Jan: The Oak Wedding Barn at Sandhole Farm is situated in Cheshire, one and a half miles from Congleton off the A34 Manchester Road. Built using traditional design and craftsmanship it’s mellow beams are beautiful and impressive. The stunning oak floored ceremony area doubles as a large dance floor for evening receptions and the venue itself can seat up to 150 guests for wedding ceremonies and receptions. The large decked veranda overlooks the picturesque private lake with views of the surrounding Cheshire countryside making this is a truly delightful wedding venue.
This stunning venue with beautiful rustic features was the perfect backdrop for an autumnal inspired styled shoot. We shot on a crisp September morning, the landscape looked wonderful and some the local wildlife stopped by to say hello.

Using a colour palette of deep reds, purples, browns and gold and taking inspiration from the abundance of seasonal fruits including figs, plums and blackberries we created a look which complimented both the season and the style of the venue. We wanted to create an elegant scheme but with a rustic feel, so flowers were kept loose with plenty of greenery. The reddish brown hydrangea heads worked perfectly with the salted caramel ‘naked’ cakes and toffee apples, whilst the plum coloured menus and envelope inserts on the wedding stationery matched the iced Dahlia inspired flowers on the main wedding cake.
Our beautiful ‘bride’ was dressed in a gorgeous Raimon Bundó gown which was pretty and elegant with a slight ‘Boho’ feel. Hair was kept soft and long and the bridal makeup was a mix of neutral lips with a ‘Smokey’ eye created using browns and gold.

Oh I’m a big fan of smokey eyes and boho curls! So this Bridal look is right up my street! I’m loving all of the berry tones and fresh fruit details, but the pops of red and burnt orange are just yummy. I also have a severe case of cake envy.
If you fancy a pretty lake backdrop to your wedding day then you can find Sandhole Oak Barn in the Coco Collection.
Thank you so much to Jan Clarke, Samantha Ward Photography and friends for sharing their beautiful work.
Lot’s of love…
