Alice & Jonathan’s Elopement at Ever After

Written by Emma Hla

You may have spotted in our 2017 Wedding Trend Report that we are currently crushing on the elopement. Well, the beautifully intimate wedding of Alice & Jonathan has only confirmed our love for the small wedding.

This gorgeous couple chose Ever After in Devon and this particular venue have everything in place to make your elopement planning super simple. Nicola, owner of Ever After, has carefully thought of everything a couple might need for a luxury micro wedding. For a single inclusive price you’ve got the venue, the bouquet, the photographer, the champagne and canapés and the wedding breakfast prepared by a private chef, plus overnight accommodation in their 18th Century honeymoon cottage. Everything is organised for you and in perfect detail.

So come on, let’s run away with Alice & Jonathan…

Notes from the Venue & the Bride

Nicola:

I’m so thrilled to be sharing the elopement wedding of Alice & Jonathan. The couple married here back in October and their day was simple yet utterly beautiful.

The Bride’s Stepmother owns a bridal shop, Pure Couture Bridal Boutique in Beaconsfield, and it’s here Alice found her dress. An Essense of Australia gown (Pearl Mikado worn without the jewelled belt) it suited her so perfectly. The dress has a jaw dropping train and POCKETS!

Alice teamed her dress with a cute little shrug to keep off any autumn chill and a pretty bouquet by Amanda Randell. The couple’s gorgeous little son Jack was adorable as you can see from the photos.

Alice & Jonathan got married in front of the fire on the glass covered terrace, had a drinks reception in the wedding barn during which they had a few photos with Clare Kinchin our photographer in the gardens and along the river walk. The wedding party then returned to the terrace for a wedding breakfast in front of the fire, prepared by our private chef. After the wedding breakfast we brought in comfy sofas for everyone to enjoy an evening in front of a roaring fire with tea, coffee and wedding cake.

Alice:

We had the most perfect wedding at Ever After and were so lucky to find somewhere that was able to offer just what we were looking for. My husband and I wanted to have an elopement wedding but didn’t want to compromise on all the fine details that would go in to a more traditional day. We still wanted to have great food, a wedding cake, professional photographs and a beautiful venue that wearing my dream wedding dress would not look out of place in.

We searched and searched for venues that would offer such a package and when coming across Ever After it literally looked too good to be true. We loved the decor and luxury it seemed to offer and were just blown away by the truly magical setting. I went to visit and it was more spectacular than photos even show. Nicola and the team were amazing at making sure we had everything we wanted without us having to do a thing and leading up to the wedding all we did was share a few ideas on Pinterest for the décor, the cake and the flowers. The team created everything to meet and even surpass our vision. Nicola was always there to reassure and answer questions leading up to day but we were truly able to leave everything to them, relax and just turn up and enjoy the day.

The day was just so special, getting married in the glorious garden with a roaring fire in the background was magical and, to top it all off, the honeymoon cottage was so classy and every little detail had been thought of to make it an amazing stay. Our wedding will truly be a day we will cherish forever and thanks to the beautiful photos that come as part of the package, we will have a beautiful record of everything. We cannot thank Nicola, Harrie, Clare and Amanda enough for making it possible.

Anyone choosing to have there wedding at Ever After will not be disappointed. My biggest bit of advice would be to sit back, relax and let them take care of all it.
