A Softer Autumn at Delbury Hall

Written by Emma Hla
Autumn isn’t all plum, berry and burnt orange! If you’re marrying at this time of year but fancy a softer palette then this styled shoot at Delbury Hall is the perfect autumnal inspiration.

Delbury Hall is a magnificent wedding venue in rural Shropshire and a private family residence. Its striking architecture, breathtaking grounds and contemporary facilities can be all yours on your wedding day. They have an Open Day this weekend, so if you like what you see then book yourself a little road trip!

Notes from the Photographer

Tanya says…

The inspiration for this shoot was the autumnal colours and warmth that this season brings! We chose pretty corals and dusky blues, which work perfectly with my light and airy photography style. I decided that I wanted the shoot to be warm and elegant, yet pretty and relaxed too.

When I visited Delbury Hall, I knew this would be the perfect place to showcase an autumnal wedding shoot. The house is a gorgeous backdrop in its own right, with the autumnal leaves falling all round the house and grounds. The Coach House is a gorgeous space for a banquet style feast and party.

The sunset inspired florals were chosen as they added the colour we wanted for the autumnal feel. Along with lots of eucalyptus foliage, the centrepieces which were full of greenery, roses, dahlias and delphiniums. The single stems of berries added a pop of colour.

In terms of the suit and dress, we went with a brown tweed in a gorgeous mocha and also a white fitted dress too! All very distinctive and incredibly stylish. We mixed it up a little with a bespoke bridal jacket too, as everyone likes to have something different on their wedding day.

The hairstylist created a sophisticated and pretty plait, with a few strands loose for a whimsical look. Something the makeup artist took into consideration when creating the look – we used subtle and softer colours.

The décor and details all emphasised the rustic yet elegant feel, bare wooden tables with greenery is a simple and elegant look, decorated with gorgeous candelabras and gold cutlery – not to mention the pretty gold rimmed plates and glasses, which really set the tone. The macramé backdrop was a standout piece, and is something that adds a wow factor to your wedding.
