A Bohemian Autumn at Huntsmill Farm

Written by Emma Hla
Huntsmill Farm is a beautifully rustic eighteenth century stone barn nestled in the Buckinghamshire countryside. The working farm has the perfect mix of stunning grounds with breath-taking views and an industrial farm backdrop. It was the ideal setting for this sumptuous autumnal shoot styled by the ever so talented Justine from Beau Bright Event Design with assistance from Ruth at Huntsmill Farm.

With creative couples seeking elegant and exciting styling ideas for a country wedding in mind Justine styled the shoot with lush foliage, ethically sourced antlers, skulls and pheasant feathers, mixed with rich seasonal hues of red and burgundy. Rustic wooden tables, benches and wood slices (all hand crafted in house by Beau Bright) provided a lavish banquet feel perfectly accented by glass and tableware supplied by Knot & Horn.

The beautiful model Jade wore a romantic, delicately beaded lace gown by Ella Rose, very kindly supplied by the lovely Rachel from the Butterfly Bridal Boutique. Tony (Jade’s partner in real life) wore the very dapper Burford brown tweed suit from The Vintage Suit Hire Company with a striking wine-coloured tie and pocket square and tan leather boots.

Beautifully intricate gold hair accessories were supplied by Vivi Embellish Bridal Accessories including the Marlowe feather vine, a modern yet understated headpiece hand-crafted using gold plated jewellery wire, Swarovski Crystal beads, Japanese Miyuki bugle and seed beads. Also used was the Mila hair vine, which featured a delicate spray of handcrafted clay flowers to add a floral accent amongst the soft golds of the beaded foliage.

The incredibly talented Becky from Florae Foray produced the wonderful floral displays. Incorporating home and locally grown foliage and flowers with more unusual varieties provided a plethora of gorgeous golden, umber and orange tones. Vintage ladders hung from the oak beams provided floral focal points for the tables and ceremony barn. Vintage plant stands were also utilised as pedestals together with a rusted vintage milk churn. A free-form bouquet and delicate flower crown were created for the lovely bride and quirky buttonhole and “cane” corsage for the groom.

Designed to evoke the beauty of nature in autumn the incredible cake, designed by Charlene from Cherry Tree Cakerie, perfectly fitted the opulent country theme of the shoot. Textured tiers of burgundy leather and mottled ochre detailed with bas-relief acorn leaves and acorns accented an illustrated pheasant design by Charlotte Argyrou. Pheasant feathers, a sugar rose and opulent gold berries finish the look.
