Vibrant + Colourful Tipi Wedding Inspiration

Written by Emma Hla
We have not one, but two of our beautiful venues featuring today – long-time fave tent suppliers Sami Tipi and a brand new venue to our platform, Cuttle Brook in Swarkestone, Derbyshire.

The overall theme for this editorial was bright and bold, with a huge focus of colour. With disco balls and bright balloons, it has a real 70’s disco vibe that feels fun and playful. If you love vibrant colours, this is definitely one for your Pinterest board!

The venue for our styled shoot and open weekend was Cuttle Brook, in Swarkestone, Derbyshire. With its panoramic views across the Derbyshire Countryside, this uniquely picturesque, riverside location is perfect to host a relaxed and romantic outdoor wedding, and was the perfect backdrop for the tipis.

After a huge downpour of rain just before the shoot, the sun came out in all its glory, giving us some gorgeous sunny afternoon shots of the tipis, and around the farm.

Tara of Tara Knott Styled Events says “Colour works so well in a tipi and so when I was choosing the concept I knew I wanted something a little different.”

The main colours used were pinks and purples. These colours worked perfectly with the autumn season and really bought the October colours from outdoors into the tipis. With bright and bold being the main focus, this really came across in all aspects of the styling, particularly with bright florals displays. The main hanging floral display was full of bright pops of colour. The explosion of colour continued with vibrant stationery and signage, as well as the cake, sweet treats and stunning balloon display.

The main feature in the tipis was the hanging floral hoop, finished off with draping and disco balls. It was pure 70’s disco vibe, eat your heart out!

“When creating the cake, I knew I had to go big, bright and completely out there…” says Natasha of The Sweet Stuff. “I wanted to do something different for the favours and dessert table so I used lots of colour there too and created square favour biscuits.”

The bright, bold colours were dominant mostly in the florals used by Hollie of Moss Floral Artistry. Hollie is well known for her use of big, bright and colourful florals, and she didn’t disappoint here! The tables were decorated with a mixture of high and low floral displays, all beautifully colourful and eye catching. Alongside the show stopping hanging display.

This shoot was the perfect opportunity to showcase how well our tipis work at Cuttle Brook. It is such a stunning location and with the addition of a tipi, it makes it a show stopping spot for an outdoor wedding. If couples are thinking of going bold with their colour choices, this shoot is the perfect way of us showing how it can work perfectly in the tipis. Giving out couples more confidence to go big and bold!
