The Classic Editorial at Boconnion

Written by Caitlin Hoare
Boconnion was the perfect backdrop for this classic inspiration shoot featuring two handsome grooms and a dog named Poppet.

When it comes to wedding styling it sometimes feels like heading down the traditional, classic route might be a touch old fashioned, or dare I say it, boring. But OH, how wrong this assumption is! Often the most chic thing you can do is be a touch reserved, understated and stick to the classics – they’re classics for a reason y’know.

With this in mind we’re absolutely delighted to welcome this brilliant creative team to the Blog today who demonstrate perfectly how stylish tailoring, a simple but artistic, modern wedding cake and natural, understated blooms can make the biggest impact.

Notes from the Venue

Caroline says…

Boconnion is the perfect setting for a chic, classic wedding style thanks to our beautiful Georgian manor house and surrounding gardens and grounds. The house offers couples home-from-home luxury, with the freedom to truly enjoy the 150 acres of rolling Cornwall countryside and ancient oak woodland that Boconnion sits within.

This intimate same sex wedding shoot was designed with a masculine stylish feel. We wanted to show what a traditional, classic-styled wedding at Boconnion could look like. To achieve this we focused on a neutral colour palette of black and white tones, natural florals, and clean, modern decor.

The feature was styled by the brilliant Nikki at Knots & Kisses. Her creative touch really amplified the shoot and the outdoor wedding areas she created with the help of Trevarno Event Hire and Keeping it Vintage were a perfect example of what can be achieved at our country house wedding venue. The shoot inspiration was based around celebrating love with your nearest and dearest, within the picturesque grounds of Boconnion.

The models were both dressed in a luxe classic style with suits from local company, Little Ann-Maids. They went for a formal style, complimenting each other in charcoal and black velvet dinner jackets, crisp white shirts and pink and black bow ties – very dapper! We can’t not mention their lovely dog Poppet who was the perfect addition to an already wonderful, romantic shoot.

Supporting local businesses is incredibly important to us at Boconnion so we were delighted to welcome local caterer Dish Cornwall and mobile bar company Sauce Cornwall to be a part of this inspiration shoot. They were invited to showcase their delicious food and drinks to give couples a taste of what a well-rounded, complete wedding day could look like.

The opportunity to showcase Boconnion as a classic but flexible exclusive use venue has been brilliant. It was a privilege to bring together a creative team of local wedding industry businesses at the very top of their game and produce a truly inspirational gallery of images, documenting unique and personal wedding elements which aim to inspire couples starting out on their wedding planning journey.
