Scottish Bohemian Wedding Inspiration at Gordon Castle

by Emma Hla
Images by Esme Saville Photography.
Not only is this editorial full of bohemian chic inspiration, we also get to introduce you to Tower Hall, a brand new space at the gorgeous Gordon Castle in Scotland.

Tower Hall was completed in 2020 and adjoins the castle’s historic 14th century tower. The perfect unity between urban chic and historical romance, the space is a blank canvas for up to 200 guests – complete with a glass domed roof and arched doors leading out to the castle gardens.

With the shoot focusing on natural hues, stylish cane furniture, green foliage and a scrumptious cake, we think you’ll be in Pin-heaven.

Notes from the Venue

Jennifer says…

When you book Tower Hall with the castle, your guests can enjoy a full catered and staffed 5* service, sleeping up to 16 guests. Including the cottages on the estate we can sleep over 38 guests.

As COVID put a stop to all of the lovely weddings that were booked in 2020, we were desperate to showcase the endless options Tower Hall could provide. So we partnered up with some fantastic local suppliers for a staged shoot.

We are very fortunate at Gordon Castle that the venue is naturally photogenic and the gardens equally so. We kept this in mind with our styling and chose to enhance what was already there as opposed to covering it up.

With natural foliage, copper piping and cane chairs, we felt this was on trend for upcoming weddings styles. The rustic trestle tables and cane chairs were ideal for the relaxed setting and we chose a sharing platter to compliment the laid back atmosphere.

Wild Blossom was the florist and for the bouquet we chose a gorgeous blend of Peony, Ranunculus, Viburnum, Rose, Stock, Aquilegia, Bunny tail grass and eucalyptus tied with linen ribbon. Whilst on the table we had Ammi, Ranunculus, Rose, Achilia, Snapdragon, Aquilegia, Heather, Fern, Sage, Mint, Rosemary and Moss.

All of our suppliers were local so will be available to help couples make their dreams a reality! The micro shoot seems to be the way forward as restrictions start to lift in Scotland over the next few weeks and months, so we hope it will show couples that a picture perfect day is still a possibility.
