Roz & Josh’s Summer Wedding at Willow Grange Farm

Written by Caitlin Hoare
R + J chose Willow Grange Farm, a relaxed marquee venue located in the lush Cambridgeshire countryside as their Italian wedding substitute, and it didn’t disappoint.

They enjoyed a weekend-long, exclusive-use hire meaning that they could really relax into their extended celebration and make the most of the space, the views and of course the summer weather!

Over to you Roz…

Notes from the Bride

Roz says…

After cancelling our Italian wedding we decided to get married here in the UK. After two years of postponing we couldn’t wait to marry and went on the hunt for the perfect venue! When we came across Willow Grange Farm we really couldn’t have asked for anything more. We were after a marquee celebration, somewhere everyone could relax and have fun! The venue was perfect. I fell in love with the marquee as it had an edge over your normal marquee set up with beautiful details inside including the wooden floors and huge rustic bar. It was the perfect blank canvas for any couple to add their own magical touches too!

Having the on site glamping, Silo Barn and surrounding fields was also a huge plus. We also really appreciated having hire of the venue all weekend! Being able to set up the day before and continue your celebrations further the following day was wonderful, you just couldn’t ask for anymore! Clara and Hannah were also amazing, always on the other end of the phone or answering emails, also so helpful when suppliers let me down. They pointed me in the right direction and helped wherever and however they could. Their dedication of helping set up the day before was amazing and again on the day always being around to coordinate and take any stress away!

I was after a plain, fitted dress so coming across Blush was perfect, just the style of dress I was after! Sarah the owner was amazing, I would highly recommend a visit for any bride, the shop itself is stunning!

We wanted a modern boho feel to our day. We loved the pampas grass arrangements and loved adding modern golden touches such as name place settings, welcome boards and table numbers. We used the Silo Barn for our drinks reception which was decked out with vintage items from Dolly’s Vintage Tea Hire – amazing service!

Clemmie and Twine, our florist, were one of the best finds of our whole wedding experience! Tina completely understood my vision and went full force with it! The beautiful church aisle sprays, bride and bridesmaid bouquets, buttonholes, table arrangements and wedding cake flowers. The venue had this beautiful wooden beam that Tina dressed so beautifully, it really was the statement of the day! When Tina also visited the site she gave ideas about dressing the bar with candles and arranged candles and holders all across the tables. It was also Tina’s amazing advice and guidance, helping me choose napkins and sign boards. Honestly nothing was too much trouble and always seemed excited to help, booking her really was one of the best decisions I made!

We used Hall & Co for our reception dinner as well as evening food. They were recommended by the venue and we were blessed with yet another amazing supplier, nearly every guest commented on the how amazing the food was! They also supplied our napkins and they have an additional hire for venue styling which again worked perfectly with the venue. The staff were fab and again made me feel completely at ease! We also hired a donut wall from Scrumdiddlyumtious which all the guests loved, another happy and helpful supplier.

Our photographer was Damien Vickers Photography, we were so glad we were able to secure him for our big day! Photos mean a lot to me so I wanted to make sure I booked the right photographer. I loved Damien’s way of capturing the natural shots throughout the day, it made me feel like I didn’t miss a thing! Damien was very kind and friendly as well as professional. He was very patient, I have 2 young boys so trying to get the photos while working around playing mummy was quite the task but Damien made me feel at ease and really relaxed. He had the perfect way of making you feel like he was there but wasn’t at the same time. Fantastic work, would definitely recommend!

Best part of the day

After 15 years with my partner saying I DO was amazing!

I loved watching all my friends and family come together and just have the best day! Everyone seemed so relaxed and at ease, it really made my day. I loved the time with my new husband having our couples’ portraits and loved dancing the night away with the sax player.

From one couple to another…

Enjoy every minute. After many months of planning and preparation you need to switch off on the day and make the most of it as it goes by so quick! We loved having a small and intimate wedding, being able to share the day with the people you love the most!
