Romantic Modern Minimalism at Saltmarshe Hall

Written by Emma Hla
A chic country house? Check. A champagne tower? Check. A groom in a cape? CHECK.

OK gang’s all here, so let’s just dive straight into this delicious elopement editorial, full of drama and serious seasonal yumminess.

Saltmarshe Hall is undeniably beautiful and chic. This luxury countryside Manor House paired perfectly with the vision for our shoot. Minimalistic modern romance was the brief, and we brought the outside in, with a striking floral installation in the stunning Morning Room. Our ceremony was followed with a champagne celebration in the beautiful new bar.

We wanted to take a modern approach on current trends; minimalistic key features that create an impact, sometimes less is most definitely more. Taking inspiration from the current season we went with organic earthy tones with a hue of forest green.

Black tie is effortlessly chic and so butterfly bow-ties were a must, with Glen wearing a green jacket to tie in with the colour scheme. We wanted to add drama and power, something to really captivate the viewers and the bespoke tulle cape certainly fulfilled its role. Easily attached to the seams of the jacket, this cape was just everything and more! It brought all the drama, texture and pizzazz needed, without compromising our minimalist theme.

We all love an impactful top table tablescape but who says modern minimalistic can’t be impactful? With its stripped-back modern design, the table oozes elegance. We opted for simple key elements with beautiful fresh and dried florals and overlapping textures and fabrics – it’s bold and beautiful!

Floor arches are a really dynamic way to add a statement to simple styling, this particular display would be perfect for a ceremony focal-piece and then after the ceremony you can use the sections to style the top table, entrance halls or staircases.

Where the Ribbon Ends created a chic beautiful buttercream vintage inspired cake. These cakes are really coming back onto the wedding scene. It’s so deliciously bold, we loved it!

The Petal Studio created a floral masterpiece. This installation was designed to wrap around our couple adding all the romance. With the winter weathered greenery mixed with dried elements and then the fresh flowers nestled with them, it was all so beautiful. I just loved how the delicate white roses really popped amongst the dried poppy seed heads and bracken.

If you want to recreate this for your own big day, then definitely consider the less is more approach. Re-use elements of the styling throughout your day and champagne is always a winner! I also just love the idea of taking time as a couple together, raise your own intimate toast at the bar, together as a newly married couple.
