Jo and Miki got married at the amazing Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). It couldn’t have been a more poignant venue. Miki, having studied and graduated at RIBA as an architect, treated his guests to a venue of grandeur and design, and they loved every minute of it.
The wedding, planned to perfection by Batsheeva Dominitz from Simply Events BB, had touches of elegance and magic throughout, from the pre-wedding brownies, Miki’s final cigarette on the roof of RIBA, to the summer sun closing in on the evening guests in beautiful Marylebone.
Jo and Miki bought their beautiful rings from Laura Jee Jewellery and Anabela Chan. A large photo montage of Jo and Miki’s time together greeted guests as they entered the building, with beautiful floral arrangements dotted around the various seating areas.
The evening was filled with Jewish traditions, Miki and Jo turning to staff to hand out the bread to guests. Jo and Miki were then then lifted metres in the air, as part of the traditional Hora dance. They then cut their extravagant cake, a homage to Miki’s architectural roots. RIBA was the perfect venue for their wedding, with the fantastic first floor terrace, and floor-to-ceiling windows, carved stone of the Florence Hall providing the backdrop as everyone danced the night away.
The great thing about this wedding was that Jo and Miki chose a venue that meant something to them. It became not just a space to get married in, but an extension of their personalities and what they hold dear.
The wedding of Jo and Miki was a day packed with sophistication, happiness, small moments and tradition.
