Lauren & Tom’s Modern White Wedding at Thicket Priory

Written by Caitlin Hoare
Mr & Mrs Mason’s all white wedding is the opposite of boring. It’s elegant, it’s modern and it’s luxe.

Choosing all white is intentional, it’s actually quite a statement and looked incredible with the luxurious charm of Thicket Priory as the backdrop. L&T’s modern white wedding transitioned beautifully from breathtaking, memory-making wedding to super chic black tie soiree. With the help of Lauren’s stunning three outfits of course, the one from their night-before-the-wedding being my personal fave! Enjoy…

Notes from the Couple

lauren says…

We chose Thicket for so many reasons, it really did tick all of our boxes!

Not only is Thicket Priory an exclusive wedding venue which was amazing but they also have the option of exclusively hiring the venue the night before your big day and we just loved the idea of starting the celebrations a day early with our close friends and family. This was something that we hadn’t really seen with other venues. We ended up having a night of cocktails & canapés the night before which was really fun.

Another reason was the decor. We had seen so many venues which had a few questionable features. At Thicket we didn’t have to worry; from the bedrooms, to the bar, to the ballroom, the decor is just gorgeous and all of our guests agreed.

Finally and this is a big one, the staff. We met the lovely Becca on our first viewing and she really blew us away. From start to finish she made the whole experience just magical. In fact all the staff are so attentive and ready to help with every eventuality. We can’t say thank you enough for guiding us through the whole process with ease.

Best part of the day

It’s so hard to choose but we just loved our ceremony. We had lots of ceremony rooms to choose from at Thicket Priory but we decided to have the ceremony on the lawn in front of the lake. It gave us the most incredible backdrop and we even had a few guests in tears when they saw the flowers and chairs in front of the lake. Our ceremony was conducted by the incredible Rachael Meyer who gave us a personalised, modern blessing. It was beautiful.

From one couple to another…

Enjoy the build up and try not to stress about the small things. On the day itself none of it will matter and you’ll be in the most amazing wedding day bubble.

We know it’s cliche but it really is one of the best days of your life. We would relive it all again in a heartbeat.

Notes from the Venue

Lauren & Tom’s celebration was white wedding bliss! This was a wedding like none we’ve had before. The white theme which was reflected through the bridal party’s outfits, the florals and styling was so classy, we just could not get enough!

Baby’s-breath, a.k.a. gypsophila, and white orchids stole the show with the exception of our stunning couple of course, who chose a unique ceremony location on our front lawn directly between the main house and lake.

The classic choice of white was perfectly matched with the gents dress code of black tie, delivering the smartest dressed crowd we’ve seen to date.

Baba Ganoush Catering looked after all aspects of the dining, treating guests to a grazing feast for all on the night before the big day including a selection of rustic breads, Yorkshire cheeses, cured meats and tasty, world-inspired sharing salads. On the wedding day itself Lauren, Tom and their families and friends had all sorts of delights to feast on including burrata with ribboned & roasted courgettes and olives for starter. Followed by Wolds duo of chicken; pan-fried breast and kiev bon bon with truffle pomme anna, shaved truffle, butter roasted carrot and rainbow chard. And finished off with
Tarte au citron with a tempered white chocolate dome, limoncello cream and fresh raspberries. Each and every course looked delicious and was very well received by our guests.

Amy Lou Photography captured the class, beauty and style from Lauren & Tom’s day perfectly and even managed to publish this stunning couple in Vogue magazine!! From candid shots of their friends and family to the love and laughter felt by their presence, you can feel every moment through Amy’s images.

Partnered with Ed Bray Films, it’s safe to say that Mr & Mrs Mason will be able to relive their day over and over again through the power behind a lens! We are so happy to share images of such a beautiful couple… and of course of the unforgettable backdrop of Thicket Priory!
