Jordan & Natalie’s Saltmarshe Hall Wedding

Written by Emma Hla
…amidst the whirlwind, steal a moment for yourselves and let the magic unfurl.

The picturesque backdrop of Saltmarshe Hall wove seamlessly with Jordan & Natalie’s vision of a modern yet timeless celebration.

The hall’s traditional elegance and lush outdoor woodland expanse provided the perfect canvas for their grand and glamorous affair. A symphony of white roses and abundant foliage curated by All Occasions of Howden enveloped the day, weaving the couple’s love for the outdoors into every petal and frond. Olivia Amy Photography captured the day’s narrative and the couple’s love story.

Notes from the Bride

Natalie says…

We chose Saltmarshe Hall because of the beautiful outdoor woodland space and the grounds that surround the hall. Inside, it’s traditional yet modern, which fitted our wedding vibe, and there’s a gorgeous staircase as soon as you enter, which blew us away!

From the get-go, we knew we wanted the day’s fashion to be stylish yet traditional and clean-cut, simple yet extravagant. I tried on many dresses, thought I knew what I wanted going into the bridal shop, and walked away with the dress of my dreams being the complete opposite of what I thought I liked!

I went for Adriana Alier-Zuley. It was everything: tight fitting around the waist, low cut but comfortable neckline, and a large skirt with a long train. It was also accompanied by a detachable bow at the back and amazing deep pockets, which was a selling point! I matched the dress with a pair of Charlotte Mills Indie Pearl wedding shoes with vows written on the soles.

For my make-up, I went for natural and glowy; I took inspiration from Sophie Habboo, who recently married Jamie Laing and Hailey Beiber with my hair and make-up. My hair was styled into a low knot bun with curled pieces falling behind my ears by Aimee Grant Hair, and the makeup was natural and glowing with mainly Charlotte Tilbury products by the amazing Laura Dickey. I wanted my eyebrows as natural and bushy as possible, so I did them myself and asked for brown tones for my eyes and a natural sunkissed complexion. My make-up stayed on ALL DAY! It’s so important to pick the right makeup artist! The bridesmaid’s make-up was a little bold, with lash extensions and darker eyes.

The bridesmaids were dressed in Pretty Lavish satin bridesmaid dresses in champagne, each in a different style dress but the same colour with simple satin champagne block heels to match. When we looked at the venue, we knew we wanted to wear black tie attire for the groom and groomsman. We chose simple traditional tuxedos to match but with a different dinner jacket for Jordan to stand out. We again went for Moss Bros. suits and a Moss Bros. velvet dinner jacket in champagne for Jordan to match the theme. This was also paired with braces to bring that modern but traditional feel.

The theme was traditional but modern. We had a lot of white foliage and incorporated black and champagne into the day. We wanted the style to be over the top, extravagant but classy, and memorable for our guests. The styling was one of the most important aspects of the day for us.

Our florist and stylist was the amazing All Occasions of Howden, based in Howden. I cannot sing their praises enough! They nailed the brief!  Our signature wedding flowers were white roses. We had these and a mixture of white flowers and foliage throughout the day. Adding foliage was important as we love the outdoors, so we wanted to surround ourselves with as much greenery as possible. We picked gypsophila for the bridesmaid’s bouquets and incorporated this throughout the ceremony florals. The groom’s buttonhole was also a simple white rose with added foliage.

Our wedding cake was a tier of the most amazing gooey brownies!! We are not cake lovers, but we love brownies! Our close friend made these for us, and they were decorated by the florist with a mixture of the wedding flowers we picked for the ceremony.

Olivia Amy Photography was our photographer for the day. She’s amazing. Her pictures captured our day and brought our big day back to life again! We wanted a natural-approach photographer who would capture the most important and genuine moments, which she did. Olivia was always in the background but never intrusive, which we liked! Sometimes we forgot she was there, which, in our opinion, is a sign of a brilliant wedding photographer.

Best part of the day

Everything!! The whole day was just magic!

From one couple to another…

Make time for you and your partner on the day; take a walk around the grounds, sit just you two on the top table, or have a drink together. The day goes so fast, and everyone wants a bit of you both, and before you know it, you haven’t spent quality time together on your wedding day!
