Dusty Pink & Coral Wedding at Swanton Morley House

Written by Caitlin Hoare
J & A’s intimate wedding is giving us all the summer vibes…

They may have had a smaller wedding than first planned but this didn’t mean it was any less amazing. In fact, there’s a LOT I love about their day; the fact they were conscious of their waste so focused on a few choice items, the pretty tones of pink interwoven throughout, and how could I not give Jay’s epic custom Adidas Superstar trainers a mention…#coolbride!

Their super fun celebration was played out against the backdrop of Swanton Morley House – a stunning Norfolk venue with rambling gardens and grounds. You can certainly tell these guys got married in early June, thanks to the gorgeous pops of pink and purple rhodies making an appearance in their couple’s shots!

Well, I can’t think of a better way to ease into the weekend, can you? Enjoy folks…

Notes from the Bride

Jay says…

The venue was stunning, quintessential and intimate. Even though we originally booked back in 2018 when we imagined a much larger wedding, the venue was a great size to cater for our revised number of just 30 guests. The venue really reflected us as a couple and the no corkage fee certainly helped too!

We wanted to feel comfortable in our wedding outfits for the day so we went for a mix of modern and traditional! There are so many ways to ‘do you’ and so we found ourselves using tradition as a starting point with the same question in mind throughout all decision making moments – “is this me? Is this us?”

There wasn’t really a theme, the venue was so beautiful that we essentially accessorised the already stunning venue. We were really conscious of our waste so didn’t want décor that was too excessive. We chose simple colourful candles, a few special bits that we made ourselves, and the flowers were from the gardens.

Jane from Daphne & Doreen was incredible. We had a chat on the phone in the midst of Covid and we put together a Pinterest board of the palette and style of flowers. We sent it to Jane and we hit it off straight away. She saw our vision and used her expertise to bring it to life!

Best part of the day

It’s hard to say!

We spent the night before the wedding apart, I ran myself a bath and settled into bed at a decent time. I was lucky enough to get a good nights sleep. I woke up with my sister and future sister-in-law knocking at my door and we all got ready together. Having that time together, with all of my girls, was one of my fondest memories.

During the wedding itself, it was definitely the ceremony. We forgot everyone was there and it went so quickly so we did our best to soak it all up!

From one couple to another…

Take time to soak it all up. Take time to pause, look around, take in all of the people around you, and just absorb the day. Words cannot explain how quickly the day will fly by!
