James & Melissa’s Monochrome Wedding at Swynford Manor

“Swynford Manor is such a chic, elegant and modern venue and I knew it would fit our monochrome theme perfectly.”

Swynford Manor in Cambridgeshire was the dream venue choice for J+M’s modern and monochrome wedding. Mixing traditional country house touches with contemporary interiors, it proved one heck of a backdrop for this chic but fun spring bash.

Notes from the Bride

Melissa says…

Swynford Manor is such a chic, elegant and modern venue and I knew it would fit our monochrome theme perfectly. When we looked around, I loved the first impressions I got from all the staff there too.

My dress was Enzoani and my veil was from TDR Bridal Birmingham. I ordered some extra lace from Enzoani to match my dress so that my seamstress could add it to my veil so it matched. She also added our initials to personalise my veil. Hair and makeup was by CMA (Cambridge Make up Artist), bridesmaid dresses were ChiChi London and the groom’s suit was from Moss Bros.

Our theme was monochrome throughout and I knew Etiquette Events would completely nail this brief. They are such an elegant company with the most exquisite products. Stacey from Designer Flowers Essex also managed to meet the brief of monochrome flowers using roses, ranunculus and black anemones.

Our cake was made by the wonderful Nadia from Pretty Tasty. We went for a three tier cake with lemon sponge and lemon curd buttercream and a tier of pistachio sponge with honey buttercream. We also had a candyfloss machine from Sugarpuf London.

Daniel was such a dream. His candid style of photography caught our eye straight away and we were blown away with the images. I love that every image tells a story, they were so natural and I remember every moment when looking back at them. We are just constantly smiling in every picture. He was so much fun and was so friendly and we enjoyed spending time with him.

Best part of the day

Genuinely the best part of the day was the ten minutes we took to ourselves straight after the ceremony. I remember us high fiving and saying, ‘We’re married!’ – we were both just so happy.

From one couple to another…

Enjoy every second as it goes by faster than you can imagine. Don’t sweat the small stuff, no one will notice on the day. Take ten minutes here and there with your partner and lastly, the grass stains and dirt on your dress and shoes are unavoidable so just accept it and have fun.
