For anyone that’s tried to seek perfection – whether it’s a beautiful restoration of a Georgian family home (hello St Giles House!) or planning your ‘perfect’ wedding day – there’s a certain joy and beauty in the relief you feel when you accept that actually it’s OK for us, things, and life to be imperfectly perfect.

St Giles House is an elegant Georgian country house which has been beautifully restored to become a family home available to hire for weddings. It’s sympathetic restoration with a reminder of its former state made it a perfect venue to explore the ancient Japanese asthetics of Wabi-Sabi.

The theme of the editorial explored Japanese Wabi-Sabi – the acceptance of transience and imperfection. Beautifully imagined and brought to life by stylists Branco Prata at the Taylor & Porter workshop. Rich, yet subtle and muted colours reflecting the richness of the history of the venue.

The styling was influenced by the amazing decor at St Giles House. Taking from the Wabi-Sabi principles featuring crockery and accessories with a Japanese feel.
