Georgia & Casper: Coastal Country Charm

Being from the North East, Bamburgh is my absolute favourite place. We’ve spent countless happy summers here, and I truly believe it’s the most beautiful coastal village in the UK. Bamburgh stands out for its stunning scenery, rich history, and friendly community vibe, making it a perfect spot for our wedding.

My wedding dress was designed by Sassi Holford, a well-known British designer famous for her stunning couture bridal gowns. I felt like my dress was perfectly tailored to my vision and style, helping me achieve that harmonious and sophisticated look I wanted for the big day. For my bridesmaids, we chose dresses from Ghost. I love their elegant and contemporary designs; the fabric is just beautiful. It all came together perfectly!

Initially, we didn’t have a specific style in mind, but as we started planning our wedding, our ideas came together naturally. We wanted to blend our love for the Northeast with our personalities and tastes. Walking on the beach in my wedding dress was about so much more than just getting pretty photos. The beach is my happy place, where I feel completely at peace, so celebrating my love there felt like a dream come true. We’ve always loved being outdoors, so a marquee was the perfect choice for our wedding. It allowed us to bring the beauty of nature into our celebration while providing a cosy and intimate space that we could make our own.

The marquee company we chose were fantastic from the very beginning. They were super helpful throughout the planning process, and the owner was onsite to set up the marquee himself, which was awesome. Their attention to detail made a difference and the marquee turned out absolutely stunning! It created a beautiful atmosphere for our celebration, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Nova Christy is an incredibly talented florist who offers much more than beautiful arrangements. She was a tremendous support on our wedding day and had an excellent team by her side. Her guidance was instrumental in helping us choose the pastel pink and orange colours that we love, making the whole experience feel personal and special.

For our wedding, we chose to work with Emily Botham, a caterer I’ve known for nearly 30 years. Emily is incredibly talented, and her expertise goes far beyond providing food. We’ve attended several weddings where she catered and handled numerous family events, so we knew we could trust her to make our day special. She and her team’s exceptional skills and ability to create delicious, beautifully presented dishes made them the perfect choice for our celebration. We wouldn’t have considered anyone else! Emily’s passion for catering truly shines through in everything she does, making her a vital part of our wedding experience.

We chose Joe Dodsworth as our photographer based on strong recommendations from industry professionals and several friends who had previously worked with him. Joe has a fantastic reputation for his relaxed approach, which made us feel at ease throughout the day. He is genuinely a lovely person, and his ability to capture the essence of our wedding was remarkable. From candid moments to beautifully composed shots, he perfectly documented our special day, allowing us to relive those memories for years to come.

The best part of the day was the moment we exchanged our vows in church. Standing there with my partner, surrounded by our closest friends and family, felt incredibly special. It was a beautiful mix of emotions, excitement, love, and a little bit of nervousness. Seeing everyone’s smiles and feeling the support from our loved ones made it even more meaningful.

After the church, celebrating with everyone at the marquee reception was fantastic. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and amazing toasts, which I’ll remember forever. Seeing our friends and family come together to enjoy the delicious food and drinks was wonderful. The dancing was a highlight, too—everyone had a great time on the dance floor! The marquee allowed us to personalise the space, adding touches that made it feel special and uniquely ours.

Invest in a good photographer who understands your vision. These memories will last a lifetime, so it’s worth having someone who can capture all the special moments of your day.
