Notes from the Planner

Lucy Ann says…

Surrounded by breath-taking panoramic views of the Cotswolds, Hamswell House was the perfect venue for this elegant, fine art editorial. This magnificent English Renaissance country house with its carved stone walls, pergola and ornamental canal sits within an incredible 50 acre garden. As well as the many beautiful backdrops outside the venue there is also the remarkable 18th century orangery which is a picture-perfect ceremonial room.

The colour palette was chosen due to it being incredibly versatile and fitting perfectly in all seasons. My ultimate ambition for this editorial was to display an elegant array of colours; dusty blue, gold, white and green, that would compliment the scenery and contribute to my desire of bringing a fairy-tale feel to a wedding day. Charlotte Wise Photography managed to capture this vision flawlessly, providing her fine art expertise throughout.

The Griffs were the perfect model couple, as the adoration they have for one another really shone through on the day. Mark looked on adoringly in his black tuxedo by Charles Tyrwhitt, watching Phoebe walk down the aisle in the orangery in a stunning Ronald Joyce bridal dress from Trousseaux’s, paired with soft blue bridal shoes from Harriet Wilde. Exquisite hair accessories and jewellery by Abigail Grace Bridal were added, with her hair in a delicate up-do and soft makeup that complimented her natural beauty by Storme Makeup Artist.

Phoebe then changed into a beautiful, fairy-tale blue dress by Lo’Adoro from Trousseaux’s. Her hair fell down to her shoulders which created a more relaxed feel as the day progressed, styled with a different hair accessory by Abigail Grace. At one point The Griffs walked through the beautiful gardens of Hamswell House hand in hand, and there was a magical moment when Charlotte captured them sat within the carved stone portico, which was just perfect.

The ceremony setting within the Orangery was styled by Elizabeth Weddings with Chiavari chairs from Hamswell House and an exquisite floral arch by Daisy Lane Floral, which was where the stunning cake that was designed by Bella Cakes was situated.

The table was set adjacent to the Orangery overlooking the outstanding views and canal to the bottom of the garden. The table design was styled by Elizabeth Weddings with soft blue candles, and included opulent place names and menus designed by Lou Paper placed on white dinner plates. These were then set on gold-rimmed charger plates, with glassware and gold cutlery from Prestige Hire. The luxurious St Louis chairs from Academy Furniture Hire were positioned at the table with a soft blue table runner by C Fleur Design flowing down the middle, creating the perfect setting for Daisy Lane’s soft and romantic floral arrangements.

The natural green florals, soft blue and white palette which flowed through the theme really showcased the fairy-tale, elegant vibe that I wanted to encapsulate, to inspire couples when planning their wedding day.

Watching The Griffs walk to the front of the house, with Phoebe twirling in the incredible Lo’Adoro dress was the perfect way to end this elegant editorial.
