“Dare to dream the stuff of fairy tales and love stories…”

Elizabeth & Dan treated their friends and family to a weekend-long celebration at Hanbeck Farm, a modern-rustic venue in the Lincolnshire countryside. The weekend started with a spot of cricket, followed by a delicious and intimate welcome dinner, then everyone gathered for a beautiful celebrant-led outdoor ceremony and a wedding breakfast in the marquee, finishing with a post-wedding pool party!

Amy Lauren, the collaborative Wedding Planner for Hanbeck Farm, is here with all the details.

Amy says…

Oh, where do we even start! Introducing the beautiful Elizabeth Jaggs and England rugby player Dan Robson. Back when the sun was at its height, and the skies were clear and blue, we were honoured to be part of the most memorable, fun, romantic, party weekend, celebrating the marriage of Mr and Mrs Robson.

This wonderful English wedding started with cricket at dawn on the lawns of the most beautiful venue, with a crew of England rugby stars jeering from the sidelines as Dan and his groomsmen let off steam before an evening of fun and laughter at an intimate champagne fuelled rehearsal dinner, held in the main barn itself on a banquet table of dreams. Throughout the day Alex and her team from In Bloom & Co created masterpiece after masterpiece of floral delights whilst the caterer, Aimee Kelly, alongside the team at Hanbeck Farm styled and designed the tables, ready for evening celebrations, before moving on to their sail-top marquee down by the lake where dinner was served for the main event on the Saturday.

But first let’s introduce you to Elizabeth and Dan’s love story which started way back way in 2012 when the two became inseparable friends, before realizing that their attraction ran much deeper than just besties, and they embarked on their journey as the most talked about couple within their large and supportive friendship group. 7 years on, after an abundance of rugby matches, adoption of multiple dogs, date nights, travel adventures and weekend trips, Dan proposed with a one-of-a-kind ring that captures Elizabeth’s style, beauty, and loving personality, which once again was reflected in the most wonderful wedding that oozed personality; a weekend built on all the things they love about each other and the lives they have built together.

The beauty of Hanbeck Farm – the gardens, the courtyard, the modern twist on rustic rural charm – goes hand-in-hand with the traditional stonework that’s showcased throughout both barns, all set against minimalistic design that is simply breath-taking. The barn was initially styled on the Friday evening for their epic rehearsal dinner for 36 of their nearest and dearest guests, most of whom were staying on site in the accommodation barns that branch off from the courtyard, or down by the lake in shepherds’ huts. Guests were welcomed in for dinner to the fun filled tunes of a pianist who filled the room with perfect tones as they found their seats around the longest banquet table that spanned across the room showcasing a 42-foot foliage runner, tapered candles scattered in between, linen napkins and personalised place settings.

After an evening of indulgent food, champagne, dancing and adhoc karaoke the big day was upon us, and it was all hands-on deck as makeup artists, waiters, stylists and musicians arrived early doors ready for the big day. Elizabeth and Dan chose to have an outdoor wedding blessing carried out by the most wonderful celebrant Lydia, held in the centre of the courtyard allowing their guests to bask in the summer sun as they were swept away by the love story of Elizabeth and Dan, all whilst enjoying endless champagne followed by canapés and confetti.

The afternoon then continued as guests made their way down to the most exquisite sail-top marquee built by Peacock & Bow, overlooking the lake where guests were filled with course after course of delicious food and wine, followed by non-stop laughter and endless smiles as the speeches ensued just as the sun was setting across the lake, making for the most beautiful golden hour glow, all captured by the Australian Photographer and Videographer team Dear Vincent. The party then continued back in the courtyard and main barn to where chairs and tables had all been removed leaving only poiser tables to accommodate the ultimate dance floor to rival any A-list club. The music, the laughter, the styling and the atmosphere that encapsulated every guest was second to none.

To conclude the insanely wonderful weekend, Elizabeth and Dan held a pool party with an array of cocktails and grazing platters, featuring bikinis and speedos, pool floats and dive bombs. Their wedding was designed to encapsulate their fun, lively and enthusiastic personalities, their love of fine food, champagne (and Guinness!), friendship and close family bonds. Each day showcased another little part of their passions and love of life.

The beauty of this story is that every couple who chooses to hold their wedding celebrations with us at Hanbeck Farm has the same opportunity to design and choreograph their very own dream day with the help from me, Amy Lauren Weddings, alongside the most wonderful, accommodating, and exceptional team at Hanbeck Farm, and we cannot wait to help plan and design the next!
