Chloe & Ollie’s Romantic Deene Park Estate Wedding

Written by Caitlin Hoare
A charming, romantic and quintessentially English wedding at Deene Park Estate.

Chloe and Ollie’s August marquee wedding took place at Deene Park Estate, a vast 500 acre countryside pile. Not only were they blessed with a big and beautiful venue, their day was also big on elegant details, charming surroundings and stunning backdrops, which isn’t surprising considering as soon as you enter the gates of this Northamptonshire gem you are immediately transported to different world with breathtaking views at every turn!

Weddings here take place on just a handful of dates each year – adding to the air of secrecy and exclusivity of this magical place and one of the main reasons Chloe and Ollie fell head over heels after their very first viewing.

Notes from the Bride

Chloe says…

We knew we wanted a marquee wedding and Deene Park Estate offered this amongst the most beautiful garden surroundings. With only a few weddings being held here a year the exclusivity of the venue really appealed to us and we knew it was the one after our first viewing! Deene Park ticked so many boxes for us: practicalities of toilets and electricity already there and so close to our church (St Mary and All Saints Church Fotheringhay). The Estate offered lots of wonderful recommended suppliers as well as their super helpful coordinator to guide us all the way through!

After trying on a few dresses and finding my style, I went to House of Snow Bridal and found the one! My dress was a strapless, fit and flare style with a long train, mostly plain with some lace and beaded detail. Perfect for a summer, garden wedding! I had a cathedral length veil and added customised detachable off the shoulder lace sleeves, which I then removed for the evening. My dress was so special to me.

Our vibe was traditional English, white, garden summer wedding. With having such beautiful grounds and classic marquee we didn’t need to add much decor. We dressed the tables with simple foliage and candles, and we all helped to create our decorations and signs.

The Walled Garden venue was already so pretty so we kept the flowers simple yet beautiful with white gypsophila, roses and hydrangeas on the tables and a garland around the marquee entrance. These were mirrored in the bridal bouquet and buttonholes.

Our lovely friend Julie made a three tiered white iced cake with a lemon, chocolate and Victoria sponge centres. This was decorated with trailing white roses and a little personal touch of our Cocker Spaniel, Molly! This was a big hit!

We were recommended Captured by Roxy from a friend and we fell in love with her natural, candid style of photography. We met with her at Deene Park for an engagement photoshoot and felt so calm in her presence. We were so happy with our final wedding photos and feel very lucky to have found such a kind and talented photographer to share the day with us.

Best part of the day

Aside from becoming husband and wife, seeing all of our family and friends coming together to celebrate our love was the best bit! We couldn’t have asked for a better day and seeing all our hard work and planning come together was amazing!

From one couple to another…

Enjoy every minute, including the planning and build up, no matter how stressful; treasure all the moments as it goes by so fast. One of our favourite ideas was our polaroid guestbook – such great memories to look back on!
