Boho Luxe Wedding Inspiration at Waresley Park Estate

Written by Caitlin Hoare
Three modern bridal looks including a gorgeous pink jumpsuit, a fresh take on the classic lace wedding dress, and an achingly cool mini…

And that’s before we’ve even mentioned the setting! This boho luxe wedding inspiration shoot took place at Waresley Park Estate in Cambridgeshire. Boasting breath-taking views, beautiful gardens and the most perfect location for a spot of al fresco dining I’ve seen in a long time. The creative team seriously packed in the detail and I’m here for it all! From the blend of dried and fresh flowers, to the simple but chic stationery, to the unique bridal headdresses.

Over to planner Emilia to give us the lowdown…

Notes from the Planner

Emilia says…

The shoot was held at beautiful new venue, Waresley Park Estate. It may have taken place in the Bedfordshire countryside, but this shoot has us dreaming of celebrations in a faraway land! We wanted to transform this quiet rural setting into a boho-luxe oasis with a carelessly cool vibe.

The picturesque parkland and abundance of beautiful backdrops made Waresley Park Estate the perfect setting for this shoot. We started the celebrations with bridal preparation in the main house, followed by a lakeside ceremony with views up to the house. We positioned the dreamy tablescape setting at the top of the hill, with sweeping views down over the rolling parkland. Our couple explored the picturesque surroundings with countless beautiful spots for photos. Finally, nestled in the gardens, we had a beautiful boho lounge area.

The Hall & Co. Event Design team who styled and provided florals for the day, took inspiration from a destination wedding in Mallorca and used both fresh and dried florals to create several amazing installations. We transformed this quiet countryside setting with a palette of neutral muted tones and a sea of pampas grass. The look was effortlessly boho with a luxe feel.

Bridal fashion consultant, Joanna Southwell, carefully handpicked a selection of different bridal brands and designers to coordinate a series of incredible looks, including a bespoke blush jumpsuit, statement veils, and handmade headdresses. When planning hair and makeup we opted for a clean and classic look that enhanced the model’s natural features and suited the overall style of the shoot.

The first look included a classically shaped, all lace gown with decadent detailed headdress for the ceremony. For the reception we changed looks to a fun pink jumpsuit and headdress, paired with a clean up do. For the final look we opted for sassy short dress with champagne veil, coupled with both models wearing sunglasses to complete the fun, informal vibe.

The dreamy tablescape, complete with statement lighting canopy and views down across the estate, incorporated lots of wonderful touches from small indie businesses. This included personalised candle favours by Ignium Candle, as well as handmade earthenware vases by Amber B Pottery. We explored and layered textures including different linens and earthenware and rounded stationery by The Luxe Paper Co. which all helped to add detail to the design.

Nestled in the gardens, we had a beautiful boho lounge area provided by Prop Shop Hall & Co. We opted for furniture in a palette of muted neutrals and incorporated pieces in both leather and cane, which was softened with linen accents and dried arrangements.

The simple, but oh so elegant cake by Bitesize Bakehouse was decorated with a selection of dried grasses and incorporated a hint of contrasting blush and lilac that added a pop of colour. We chose to display this on a trio of perspex plinths surrounded by dried and fresh arrangements, to create a modern alternative to the traditional cake table.

Hall & Co. created the florals for the day which included an amazing dried moongate installation by the lake for the ceremony and bespoke fresh and dried floral installation above the table. For the bouquet they opted for a smaller modern bouquet using predominantly dried elements with some fresh roses, helping to give a luxe feel. The elegant simplicity of the bouquet helped make the more dramatic fashion choices stand out.

We hope this inspires couples to do something different, whether it’s planning an intimate celebration with a focus on luxe details or to experiment with bridal looks and have multiple outfit changes. We think this shoot will inspire couples to focus on the detail and all important finishing touches.

Most importantly we hope this shoot encourages them to design a day which perfectly reflects them and their personalities!
