Beth & Imran’s Autumn Wedding at Thicket Priory

Written by Emma Hla
A weekend wedding, countryside charm, jewelled autumnal tones, a sausage dog, and the most beautiful couple, affectionately known as ‘The Sparklays’.

October’s crisp autumn vibes set the stage for Beth and Imran’s stylish soirĂ©e, and Thicket Priory became the haven for this love-filled weekend. Beth looked incredible in a bridal ensemble featuring ethereal tulle wings (adore) with personalised embroidery featuring their initials and wedding date. Keep reading because I think you’ll be as obsessed as me by the end of today’s real love story.

Wedding Notes

Beth & Imran:

Believe it or not – Thicket Priory was a compromise! Beth couldn’t imagine not having a church wedding and Immy didn’t want our guests travelling between places on the day. As soon as we saw the chapel and incredible bedrooms Thicket had to offer, we knew it was the one. With an autumn wedding, not having to take one step outside if it was raining was a huge perk, too.

Our favourite venue detail was the pantries and their never-ending supply of sweet treats! We added our favourite brownies instead of a traditional wedding cake and loved how they made our guests feel at home, setting the tone for the day from the moment they checked in. It was also great to enjoy breakfast with our guests in the Old Kitchen and Parlour the next day.

With us both being Graphic Designers, the first thing we made a start on were the invitations, of course! We started with a dark green theme inspired by the teal sapphire on Beth’s engagement ring, then added autumnal tones to match the season. We also took a lot of inspiration from the venue, as we wanted to highlight so many gorgeous details. We didn’t want our wedding to feel overly formal and wanted everyone to be comfortable, so we let the wedding party pick their own outfits, and our talented florist helped to pull it all together for us!

We both enjoyed our ceremony led by Beth’s dad, making it personal and relaxed. Because we’d had the legal ceremony in the Jefferson Room the day before, we could tailor it to be unique to us and could even incorporate an Islamic prayer from Imran’s dad. A stand-out moment for both of us was when the whole chapel erupted into song as Beth’s dad blasted out the first hymn on his guitar – the acoustics made us all sound amazing!

For couples booking Thicket Priory:

Whilst the building is breathtaking, and you’ll never stop finding new details to obsess over, the staff at Thicket Priory make the magic happen (although they’ll claim it’s the fairies).

From our initial tour to checking out, they were with us every step of the way and could not have been more helpful! They will sort out any problems before you even know there is an issue, be enthusiastic about all your grand plans, recommend the best suppliers around and encourage you that the sparkler shot is an absolute necessity! By the time you’re driving off as a married couple for the first time, you’ll already be finding an excuse to come back to see them.

Jess, Venue Coordinator:

Each wedding we have here at Thicket Priory is special, but a select few leave a significant impact on your heart and remind you exactly why you chose to work in the wedding industry…

Beth and Immy’s wedding was an autumnal vision – so much thought had gone into every little detail, including Beth’s embroidered bridal wings, which delicately highlighted their wedding date and initials, the bridesmaid’s jewel-toned dresses, and their choreographed first dance to Toucan’s ‘We Fell For Miles’ which summed up their electric energy perfectly. Not to forget the golden hour light of dreams during their group and solo portraits, which Carla, their photographer, beautifully captured.

Known as ‘The Sparklays’ by their friends and family, which is a mix of both Beth and Immy’s surnames, this title was perfectly fitting for the couple whose laughter, fun and abundant joy was shared by all their guests throughout the two days were with us celebrating their wedding. From their disco ball decor to the heart sunglasses- the *it* accessory of the season and the coolest moves on the dancefloor – they truly had the most fun-filled fairytale wedding of dreams.
