Amita & Andy’s Linden House Wedding

Written by Emma Hla
“We wanted to get married somewhere local and intimate and Linden House with its warm community feel and fantastic location on the river seemed perfect…”

I think this pretty much sums up today’s real wedding feature – Amita & Andy created a beautiful celebration at a local London spot, with winter-inspired colours, a riot of flowers and foliage, and their closest friends and family around them.

Notes from the Bride

Amita says…

We wanted to get married somewhere local and intimate and Linden House with its warm community feel and fantastic location on the river seemed perfect.

My Dress was Margareta by Karen Willis Holmes – completely covered in beading and weighing 4kg… it felt very old Hollywood glamour! Andy wore a custom tailored Yorkshire tweed suit from Edit Suits – staying true to his Yorkshire roots.

We didn’t really have a theme picked out so we just went with the flow! We love winter colours but as we were getting married in the summer, we made the combination of deep reds, gold, and summery drinks like Pimms work for us.

We also made a lot of the décor ourselves too, for example creating bespoke gold vinyl records as place settings.

Philippa Smith, of Francis Smith Flowers was our florist. We loved her style and she worked with us to carefully decipher what was in our heads to bring it to life. We decided on jewel toned flowers for my bouquet, the groom’s pocket garden (an amazing alternative to buttonhole), several standalone arrangements and a beautiful ceremony arch. We also had a foliage arch for the riverside windows and foliage dotted around other elements of the room.

Catering was superbly handled by Linden House, this included canapés after the ceremony, dinner and then snacks for the evening – our guests appreciated being well fed and watered throughout the day and the team at Linden House were incredibly attentive, making sure everyone had anything they needed at any time. We ordered our delicious cake from Cutter & Squidge.

Alba Turnbull was our photographer and captured our day beautifully. We loved her documentary style of photography, and consequently she was able to capture all the most joyful moments from the day.

Best part of the day

Seeing all our friends and family having a great time. We had postponed our day three times due to the pandemic, so to get to a place where we were able to be in a room with all our nearest and dearest to celebrate this important moment was truly second to none!

From one couple to another…

I know everyone says it but… savour every moment, the day flies by!
