The Old Kent Barn is set in an idyllic rural location. They have two buildings – a purpose built 110ft oak-framed barn (for indoor weddings and receptions) and the original barn (with guest accommodation) built over 225 years ago. The barns are set in manicured landscaped grounds and are surrounded by picturesque Kent countryside making it the perfect backdrop.
An hours drive from London and only a short drive from the Kent coastline. Accessible from both main motorways.
Two train stations in the town of Folkestone available locally, with a short journey to the venue and the historic city of Canterbury only a 20 minutes drive.
The Old Kent Barn is a 200-year-old oak framed Tythe barn, full of character and beams and home to their 5* accommodation for the venue with a luxurious newlywed suite and two further double ensuite rooms.
The design of the New Barn (where receptions are held) is both opulent (the chandeliers have won an international design award!) and neutral to co-ordinate with any colour scheme or theme. It’s oak framed with large windows and an open plan space. Their neutral tones lend themselves to any theme, from rustic to vintage, to modern and contemporary. A light tiled floor throughout the venue including a solid wooden dance floor and stage area, softened with ivory drapes and a magical starlit ceiling guide you on to the floor for your first your first dance.
A fabulous dressing room is available for brides or grooms to arrive from 7.30 on the morning of the wedding to relax with their bridesmaids or groomsmen. The dressing room has a shower room ensuite, enough dressing gowns for everyone, a digital TV, an iPod docking station, air conditioning, lots of beautiful mirrors, fridge and of course attentive staff on hand to get fresh coffee, tea or whatever you need.
The 2 ½ acre gardens are professionally landscaped creating formal parterres with romantic roses, sweeping curved hedges and an informal lake garden with a fountain all set against a backdrop of mature trees and countryside. Within their landscaped grounds sits a large gazebo with a panoramic view of the surrounding rural countryside.
The paved seating area for outdoor ceremonies has a rose and wisteria covered aisle and glass pergolas to shelter up to 150 guests. Both indoor and outdoor ceremony areas have a sound system so guests can hear the ceremony clearly. Atmospheric up-lights and fairy lights have been placed throughout the grounds, in the evening the picture-perfect fairy-lit areas create a truly magical setting.
In the Winter months, couples marry under the stars within the barn itself under their beautiful fibre optic starlit ceiling. Their ivory drapes create a beautifully intimate ceremony space, with bespoke wooden benches to seat your guests. This wonderful space can be dressed in so many different designs and seasonal styles for your wedding.
Throughout the day a dedicated coordinator is on site to run the full day and evening. Couples get exclusive use of the new and old barn as well as all the grounds for the day. Inclusive in their hire fee is a complimentary stay in the newlywed suite in their on-site 5* guest accommodation within the Old Barn and inclusive of a freshly prepared breakfast the following morning.
They are proud back-to-back winners of Kent Wedding Venue of the Year and the only Kent venue to have won it three times!
They offer their couples a complimentary food tasting event for food and wine choices.
They have a vintage ivory four-seater taxi to transport the bridal party from the dressing room to the ceremony area.

What an amazing venue and staff. We got married here June 17th and we had the most amazing day every. They accommodated to our menu and allowed us to create our own to suit both of our cultures, the chef did an amazing job on the day and executed an amazing meal both sides really enjoyed. The staff are just amazing the attention to detail is just fantastic. I felt so relaxed because I knew they had it all sorted. The day ran so smoothly, and nothing was too much for them. Our guests were blown away by the venue and the grounds just as we were when we first visited, The Old Kent Barn was the first and only venue we saw, we just fell in love straight away. Once again thank you so much.

We got married here in August, the venue is stunning. From the first time you walk into the grounds and barns it takes your breath away, so much care goes into everything they do here. Everything about TOKB is beautiful. All the staff are amazing, so nice and helpful, they do everything they can to make the day run smoothly and help you at every chance they can. Our day went perfectly, we could not have asked for more. The food was amazing all our quests were so complimentary of the food and the venue, they are so good with dietary requirements, provided us with alternative choices. Organisation is crucial with a wedding and they are so good here that it took a lot of the stress away from planning. Could not have asked for anything else, the day was perfect! When we first came to TOKB to choose our venue I fell in love with the place at first sight! Every time we came to visit the place was immaculate! The coordinators were always ready to help and I never had to wait more than 30 mins for an email reply. They ALWAYS went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. When the big day finally come, I was over the moon with the brilliant job – delicious food, super helpful serving staff, caring coordinators, everything was so organised and beautiful. My wife and I got married at TOKB on Sunday 18 March and had the most incredible day. Nothing was too much to ask, and everything was so well planned before the day. Even when snow threatened the day, TOKB staff took it all in their stride.
Many of our guests commented on the quality of the service, the food and the venue – staff were even spotted on their hands and knees with dustpans and brushes to make sure our reception area was spotless! An absolutely perfect day from start to finish – could not recommend this venue more highly, so thank you all.
