The Setting
The Buttery & Glasshouse is a luxury wedding venue within The Bull Hotel, a 600-year old inn standing proud on the leafy road leading into the historic village of Wrotham. Nestled in a Kentish area of outstanding natural beauty at the foot of the North Downs, the venue is just a stone’s throw from the iconic trail – The Pilgrims’ Way. Wrotham village is delightfully tucked away, despite being within easy reach of the M20 and M25 motorways as well as main train lines into London Victoria (40 mins from London).
There’s something about getting married in a quintessentially English inn that oozes indulgence. Renowned for its incredible 2AA Rosette kitchen and 180-bottle collection of wine, this inn can be exclusively yours for your wedding day. The Bull also has 11-ensuite cosy boutique bedrooms for you and your closest family and friends to enjoy, which is why it’s the perfect venue for a multi-day celebration.
Sitting at the rear of the hotel, The Buttery & Glasshouse is famous for its friendly and highly professional staff and is known as the best foodie wedding venue in Kent.
The Vibe
The inn has welcomed pilgrims and locals alike since being first licensed by Henry VIII in the sixteenth century. Today, celebrating artisan and craft food and drink, this freehouse is seriously committed to authentic Kentish hospitality.
The Buttery, originally used as the butler’s pantry, is a popular choice for wedding ceremonies for 30 to 100 guests. The Glasshouse brings an element of design elegance, a blank canvas that literally reflects the leafy green surroundings. And the Terrace that links the two venues creates the perfect sunny space for alfresco drinks reception by day and has a funky illuminated vibe by night.
Ten year’s experience as a 2AA Rosette restaurant has influenced a deliciously refined and truly memorable wedding breakfast menu selection with both classic and unusual options to impress. An onsite Texan smoker has been imported for a signature smoky twist on a wedding feast, which is sure to tantalise the taste buds.
The contemporary cocktail menu, craft beer selection and award winning 180-bottle wine list have been boldly curated to delight and inspire.
There’s an in-house creative hospitality team that includes chefs, a wedding coordinator and even a mixologist. And to round the day off nicely, there are 11 boutique hotel bedrooms on site including the Honeymoon Suite.
Quirky, timeless and undeniably charming.
