Chapel House Estate in Thanet, once a private family home and formal gardens, has been redesigned as an exclusive-use luxury destination venue for weddings of up to 120 guests.
Located just outside Minster in Thanet, the Estate blends seamlessly into the Kentish farmland, less than a mile from the picturesque coast. The extensive venue is located within 25 acres of organic landscape, providing a unique and natural backdrop for relaxing, entertaining, and celebrating in the most private country settings.
The reinstated north drive will provide the primary access to the estate entering via the private, gated entrance. Guests will use a natural grassed car park for up to 70 cars, including multiple EV charging points, as part of the Estate’s vision as a modern green provider. Beyond this point, the Estate has a no-car policy as it looks to protect the ground’s natural setting.
Access by High-Speed train is direct from London to the brand new Parkway, due to open at the end of 2022.

Built in 1290, Chapel House resides at the heart of the Estate. Its interior is designed and considered for luxury and comfort, effortlessly capturing the inherent charm and character of the house and its stunning gardens. The converted Chapel contains six bedrooms, all en-suite. In addition, there is a honeymoon suite that boasts a private balcony that overlooks the Arts & Craft style garden.
For outdoor ceremonies in the heart of Kent, what could be more romantic than a Wild Apple Garden Orchard for up to 120 guests, and during inclement weather, or for winter weddings, Chapel House Estate includes the converted rustic Old Malt Granary for indoor ceremonies.
Nine Hideaway Lodges combine contemporary design and understated luxury within the west paddock. In addition, the Estate boasts a converted Old Malt Granary for indoor ceremonies and a state-of-the-art Thorne Banqueting Barn.
For the morning after, couples can meet their guests for breakfast in the No9 onsite restaurant – also available for baby showers and for couples who just love to plan parties, they can book their 1st, 5th or 10th wedding anniversary party!
Sustainability and the support of the local economy is a big focus for the Estate’s founders who are working towards a low carbon footprint. Produce will be sourced from local farms, and the catering will be overseen by the multi-award-winning chef Matt Sworder, an ambassador for local suppliers. Transportation to the venue by train will be actively encouraged with a 24-hour chauffeur service shuttling guests wherever they need to be.
In addition to Honeymoon Suite and the three guest rooms within Chapel House, the West paddock includes nine Hideaway lodgings featuring private bathrooms and bedrooms, and sleeps two. In total, the Estate sleeps up to 26 people.

The house has been appointed with wedding couples in mind, providing a large, beautifully styled honeymoon suite with an en-suite bathroom and views out over the gardens. In addition, there are three bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. A large modern kitchen offers the garden room and a snug ensures the house feels like home.

The tenth hideaway lodge has been created as a beauty salon, with sinks, mirrors, a bathroom and shower, plus a message room - treatments are not included in the venue hire and must be booked in advance.
