The Barn at Alswick

My husband and I cannot recommend The Barn at Alswick highly enough.

We had to postpone our wedding due to COVID, and the team gave tremendous support over more than two years from our first viewing to our wedding day. They really were amazing through some very tough times, and always gave the reassurance that nothing was too much trouble, and that everything would turn out just fine.

We couldn’t have dreamt of a more beautiful day – and so many of our friends and family commented on how stunning the setting was. Everything seemed to run so smoothly, which meant that my husband and I – and our guests – could just relax and enjoy ourselves. From the big things (like arranging for our drinks reception to be held in the private gardens), to the small touches (like offering me a glass of water when I was melting on the dancefloor!), we felt in very safe hands.

Go and take a look – and if your heart skips a beat as you travel up the driveway like mine did, book it just as soon as you can. You won’t regret it.

Our wedding was enjoyed by everyone we’ve spoken to! We had a fantastic time and everything went so smoothly that we felt we could relax and really enjoy our day surrounded by family and friends. Thank you for your organisation, work behind-the-scenes including with our suppliers, and for being so reliable and flexible. Everyone we’ve come across at Alswick has been so friendly and absolutely lovely to work with. The Barn itself is such a beautiful building and will forever be special to us. It also looked great with all the candles on tables and in the windows! Overall, a massive thank you from us both.

From start to finish, Kay and Ellie, the main points of contact for organising and planning, were fantastic with helping us achieve our dream day, always making us feel like we were in good hands.

We used the brand new yurt village as accommodation for us and some of our guests – all the yurts were so cute and cosy and the bridal yurt (which is more like a mini house with separate rooms, tasteful furniture and an en suite bathroom) was simply stunning. Many of the guests remarked on how comfortable the beds were, saying they had a great night’s sleep! A lovely continental breakfast was provided too.

Kay and Ellie were so good with letting us set up for a few hours on the day before and were fine with me coming to the venue on the day a few hours earlier than originally planned, as well as letting my husband-to-be get on with set up in the morning on the day. As an added bonus, the gardens are stunning and such a great setting for photos. We really wouldn’t have changed a thing about our day and are really happy we picked this venue. Thank you so much Kay, Ellie and Claire!

What can I say about this incredible venue? Me and my Husband had the most amazing day. From the very first viewing all the way to the day itself and after Ellie and her team were phenomenal.

We were quite nervous as we weren’t getting any outside vendors to come and ‘do up’ the venue for us – rather we did it all from Etsy, but Ellie was amazing with making us feel confident in our ideas and really helped to bring them alive.

The day ran so smoothly and it really was the best day of our lives. Lots of our guests commented on the beauty of the venue and said it was one of the best weddings they have ever been to! The venue is truly special, and the team are amazing. If you are considering this venue as your wedding venue – look no further!

The Barn at Alswick is such a special place. The venue was great for us as it’s not only gorgeously renovated but also disabled friendly. Ellie was great when we were planning our wedding, always replying to emails quickly and helping our ideas come to life. Ellie, Kay, Claire and the team were superb on the day, so calm and reassuring, we knew we were in safe hands! We loved staying in the glamping pods too – so comfy and the honeymoon suite is stunning! So many of our guests said how much they loved the venue and the chilled day. We can’t thank everyone at The Barn enough, we had the most special day!

We had our wedding reception at The Barn at Alswick and it was excellent. From the planning to all they did on the day it was brilliant. Ellie was so helpful and really cared about how the day would run. She interacted with all the suppliers (food, band, flowers) to make sure everything ran smoothly on the day. Highly recommend holding an event here.

We got married at The Barn at Alswick in July 2022 and had the most unforgettable day. We are so happy we found The Barn – It was all we had ever dreamed of, and more!

We received so many compliments from our guests at how well run the day was, and how beautiful the venue was, and we couldn’t agree more. As well as the venue being stunning, surrounded by picturesque grounds, the staff were also beyond brilliant. Ellie, Lucy and the whole Alswick team were great from the moment we met, and we were always very well looked after. It was nice knowing we were in safe hands, as it made our day completely stress free.

If you’re thinking of booking the barn as your wedding venue then definitely do it! The best venue in Hertfordshire!

Had our wedding here in Feb 2020. Ellie, Kay, Claire and all of the staff could not do enough for us.  They really made sure the day went smoothly and I couldn’t have asked for anything more from them.

Huge shout out to Ellie in particular who was INCREDIBLE. We had lots of guests travelling from outside Hertfordshire who (when seeing the address) made a few comments about how far it was. When they arrived everyone said, ‘We can see why you picked the venue!’ Everything was perfect. The changeover from the ceremony to the wedding breakfast was so smooth and wasn’t noticeable. The views are beautiful and I cant wait to see the professional photos. Cant recommend this venue enough!!!

The catering options were amazing – I recommend the BBQ sharing boards! I recommend visiting an open day if you are considering this venue. This was how we first saw the venue and were very impressed with how welcome the staff made us feel.  There isn’t a corporate feel to the place which we found at other venues. The glamping options also impressed us as did the bridal suite. If I could score higher than 5 stars, I would!

As soon as I walked into this beautiful venue and explored the stunning gardens, I knew it was the right place for our wedding. It really offers everything all in one location. Ellie was wonderful throughout the planning of the wedding and was always available to answer any questions and offer advice. A huge thank you to all the staff at the Barn for making our wedding so memorable for us and our guests!

We were looking for a venue where we could have the flexibility to have the kind of wedding that we wanted, which was very informal with exclusive-use. The Barn ticked both boxes! Kay, the Alswick team and their handpicked suppliers made our day the best it could be. Nothing was too much trouble. We were listened to all the way through our planning, being guided at the same time by their extensive event management expertise, whilst still feeling in control of our special day. This made the whole experience stress free and allowed us to really throw ourselves into our day and enjoy it (something that you hear few newlyweds say after the event!). I would really recommend taking a look at the Barn – you will instantly fall in love with the beautiful setting, lovely, professional team and it is truly a blank canvas that you can make your own for a truly memorable day. So many of our guests have complimented us on the best wedding that they’ve ever attended!

We fell in love with the venue from the first day we saw it, and it just kept getting better from there! We felt so looked after by the whole team at the Barn at Alswick from that first meeting throughout all our planning meetings and the day itself.

What a venue!

We had the most magical and perfect day for our wedding last week and we owe it all the amazing team at Alswick. The whole day ran perfectly and for that we owe a massive thank you. All of our guests were blown away by how beautiful the whole set up was, from the courtyard to the beautiful fairly lights above the dance floor and of course the lovely glamping village where we stayed on the night. We wouldn’t have changed a thing. Stunning venue and amazing team making our day so magical. Highly recommend to anyone looking to book for a wedding or any other type of event they might hold.

Our May 24 wedding was booked with Alswick with the ‘small intimate package’ and planned to be very personal and stylised. A stunning day was had by all, made possible by Claire, Kay and the entire Alswick team – their friendly, easy-going, yet professional manner working behind the scenes made the day run smoothly – from planning through to the end of the day, everything was faultless. All guests complimented on the stunning venue. The next morning glamping breakfast was 5 star. I can’t recommend highly enough for anyone’s special day.
