To tie in with my magpie-esque obsession I wanted to merge the City Chic coolness of an urban wedding with all things sparkly and just a little bit extravagant…
So today’s Coco Colour Palette is all about Embellished Love.
I think City weddings allow you to push the boundaries a little, so what better style to explore the metallic hues, be it silver, gold or rose in tone…
Let me guide you through my sequinned thoughts and then a little further down you’ll find the Coco Colour Palette to pin to your own sparkly boards…
Come on folks!

Imagine gliding down the aisle in a gilded number…
Oh yes, gone are the days when a Bride is all about the white dress and matching white shoes. Instead shimmering threads will ensure all eyes are on you and will take you from the I do and first kiss, through into a glittering night of celebrations…
If I could do it all again I’d be heading straight for the Rita or Charlotte from the SS14 Jenny Packham collection, or maybe the Aiguille gown by BHLDN which I’ve always been smitten with…
For a subtler approach, you could glam up a simple classic white shift with golden heels… My faves being the stunning selection of champagne Choos, with the Luna being my own personal choice of peep-toe. But I must admit these Badgley Mischka copper embellished beauties are a little bit lustworthy…
Oh, and not forgetting the boys – The Groom doesn’t need to miss out on this trend, how about a pair of rather striking soft gold leather brogues… Would your boy be brave enough to don this look…? If not, how about wrapping boutonnieres in a metallic ribbon, tweed suits with a lurex thread or how about adding a golden badge to your boys lapel…?
When it comes to rings, why not try something alternative such as stacks of different coloured metals and stones, this is a look I’ve personally gone for and I can’t wait to continue to add milestone symbols to my rose gold and silver diamond bands…

Maybe you fancy the glitterati look for your best girls…?
Allow them to shimmer in full on sequins, or perhaps opt for a two piece to soften the glitz…? Keep the top half fresh in a silken cami whilst a sequinned maxi will keep the coolest of Bridesmaids happy…
Throw a casual sequinned jacket over bare shoulders, such as this beauty draped over a pop of peachy orange and finished with an embellished necklace.
Your Maids will feel like the belle of the ball in this finery and isn’t that exactly how we want our ladies to feel…?
stars in your eyes

From fashion to face, I love a metallic look and the beauty of this sparkly choice is that it suits so many skin tones, from pale and silvery, to coppery red through to warming golden hues.
I particularly love the honeyed golds and tawny metallics…
So whether it’s a wash of shimmer, a cat flick of silver, a smudged graphite eye or a flutter of glitter on your lashes there is something so very sexy about this chosen maquillage, non…?
Grown Up Glamour

Decor screams luxe when kept simple, as seen in these stripped back palettes of gold and white…
For a grown up party hang paper streamers and scatter balloons with shimmering tails – a cool addition to any City Chic venue backdrop of wooden floorboards, polished concrete and bare brick walls.
Opt for a twist on traditional confetti and ask your guests to shower you in sequins , or why not walk down a sequin strewn aisle…?
A Flourished feast

For your wedding feast why not try something that evokes a shimmering sparkle on the tongue such as a delicious Sage Ginger and Prosecco cocktail… Recipe can be found here.
Decorate a simple iced cake with gold leaf for a magnificent centrepiece, serve deserts in a spectrum of caramel golds and honeyed hues such as this yummy Smoked Cardamom Ice Cream with Salty Honey Caramel Swirl…
Go masculine with your tablescapes using a palette of gold, black and fresh greens, or opt for a girly touch with the palest blush sequinned cloths and sugar dipped saucers serving rose gold champagne…

So a slightly embellished post for an oh-so-embellished subject…
Are you tempted by the glitz and glamour…? Do you have a desire to dazzle…?
As for me, I couldn’t help but give in to the magpie inside… *Coming soon*
Lots of love,
