Everyone at this wedding looks so flippin’ happy! The wedding of Nadine & Joe took place on a beautiful day in the City and they chose the elegant Institute of Contemporary Arts as their canvas.
With a fresh and zingy palette of whites and lime, understated touches and a whole heap of love this is a gorgeous reminder of how much fun planning a wedding can and should be!
Oh and there’s boys in bowties.
I do love a tux.
Nadine:
We wanted to have our wedding somewhere in Central London, it has special meaning to us as we met in London at College and have lived here ever since. The majority of our friends are based in the City so it made perfect sense and we loved ICA so much. I got ready with my parents and my Bridesmaids at the Charlotte Street Hotel, which was amazing.
We knew we wanted the day to be quiet elegant with a modern touch, we used lots of lime green colours set against white.
Joe was actually in charge of choosing the wedding venue and the photographer which was great, I was in charge of the more girly things! But there was never a moment where we weren’t 100% loving the planning!
Joe has a WSET Wine Diploma so we decided to choose and supply our own Wine and Champagne for the day, so Joe really enjoyed the task of matching the correct wine with the food we were going to have on the day.
My closest friend from home is an amazing artist and she painted us this lovely tree which didn’t have any leafs on it, so what guests did they put their fingertip into an ink pad, different colours to choose from, and place a print on a branch of the tree and then signed it. It was an amazing idea and gift from her and we have it framed at home to look at every day.
Because I’m from Barbados we thought it would be a nice touch and idea to have miniature Barbados Rum Bottles as favors for all our non-Caribbean guests, and little miniature Gin bottles for non UK guests. Dare we say it went down a treat once the dancing got started!
We didn’t want to spend crazy amounts of money on things like stationery so we put our heads together to design something we both liked and it saved us quiet a lot of money. I made all the Invitations, RSVP and Thank you Cards myself. Also all the stationery for the day such as Order of Service, Place cards and Table layouts were all made by me, with some help from my mum too!
Words of Wedded Wisdom…
Just relax and take every day as it comes, if something does go wrong or slightly unplanned don’t worry about it too much, guests don’t know what didn’t go according to plan. Just really enjoy the day, you only get to do it once!

Happy Wednesday all…
