Chloe & Darryl’s Mas Torroella Luxury Villa Wedding

by Caitlin Hoare
Images by Christina Sarah Photography.
There’s something super romantic about a destination wedding, and Chloe and Darryl’s Mas Torroella spring wedding is no exception.

They also don’t get much more stylish either! These lovebirds tied the knot in a beautifully romantic celebration back in April this year. Their elegant wedding aesthetic was inspired by the venue’s rustic charm blended with modern elements, incorporating raw materials, soft textures and dusty natural hues, and pairing them with metallic accents, minimalist stationery, crisp linens, and delicate modern tableware.

Notes from the Bride

Chloe says…

At the time of booking the venue, it was in the midst of the pandemic so all of our venue viewings were virtual. We just couldn’t find a venue we liked and then we came across Mas Torroella. From the moment we met the venue owner Silvia via Zoom, we knew this was the venue for us. Every element of Mas Torroella was simply stunning; the story behind it, the designs and the fact that there were both indoor and outdoor options for the wedding day sold it for us. As Silvia did a tour of the venue for us via her phone, we just fell more and more in love. The venue has the wow factor yet is still elegant and charming. We then booked within a matter of days.

The wedding dress was purchased from Ava Rose Hamilton in the UK. The dress was Naroza from the Blue by Enzoani collection. It was a full lace dress with sleeves, a stunning train and a sweetheart neckline. The main accessories were a bespoke hair piece handmade by Ceciles Jewellery who shipped it from Australia. For the something blue, we had a bracelet designed by the jeweller Cara in Dubai which had a delicate sapphire. The veil which I wore for the ceremony was made to fall in line with the shape of the dress.

Hair and makeup was by Marta Lula Makeup Artist who travelled all the way from Mallorca and is the most talented makeup artist in Spain. I went for a soft glam look with Hollywood waves for the hair style. Our bridesmaid dresses were from Birdy Grey and shipped from the US. The groom’s suit was designed and custom-made by a tailor in Abu Dhabi called White Stripes. This was a classic black tuxedo with a felt trim whereas the groomsman suits were from Skopes and the bow ties were from Moss Bros.

The wedding planners at Creative and Love assisted with the styling. The theme was elegant and romantic with a selection of white, champagne and a hint of copper colours. For the ceremony we decided to go with simple white chairs with clear glass vases with candles and white sand inside, lining the outside of the aisle. At the entrance and head of the aisle was a range of column stands with an arrangement of flowers matching the colour theme.

The reception had a similar look and feel so the theme flowed throughout the day, with white tablecloths and crockery, and clear glasses. We also had a mixture of flower centrepieces and candles placed in brass candle stick holders and white and copper table names. Again, we wanted to keep a romantic and elegant style that matched the style and light brick of the venue.

The catering for the entire wedding was provided by Moncho’s Catering. On arrival, there were a variety of welcome drinks for the guests such as lavender lemonade in small glass bottles and flavoured water. After the ceremony, our guests were taken to the apéritif area where they enjoyed a glass of pineapple mojito and two live cooking stations (bao buns and pad thai) as well as a variety of canapés. They also provided the meal and drinks for the reception and there was an open bar for the party.

Regarding the cake, we decided to go for a red velvet cake, naked carrot cake and lemon meringue. This formed part of a dessert table for the guests after the meal. Our guests actually said that the food was the best they had ever had at a wedding!

The photographer was Christina Sarah Photography who we flew in from the UK. Her images are based on natural light and the photos were relaxed and fun which we enjoyed. She is an incredible person and made us feel very at ease throughout the day. Sometimes, we didn’t even realise she was there taking photos which is exactly what we wanted.

Best part of the day

This is a difficult one to answer as we loved every minute but if we had to choose, the best part of the day was the wedding ceremony. It was an incredible moment seeing each other walking down the aisle to the violinist and pianist playing ‘You are the Reason’ by Calum Scott. We hadn’t seen our family and friends for a long time because of covid so it was amazing to see their reaction too.

From one couple to another…

Our words of wisdom to all future brides and grooms is to enjoy every minute (including the planning process). Take time out of the wedding day to absorb everything and spend some quality time with each other as it goes so fast.
