The team at Godwick hoped the open day would give couples another chance to visit the venue and be inspired by the creativity on show. It was also a great chance to dress the venue and excite new couples about the possibilities on offer at this stunning Norfolk barn wedding venue.
Penny from The Little Lending Company collaborated with Swaffham and Fakenham Florist to develop an interior concept based on the warmth and texture of the new polished concrete floor. “The floor’s tones were the starting point,” said Penny. The collaborators opted for a mix of bright poppies, eucalyptus, dried flowers, grasses, dusty pink carnations, rusty chrysanthemums with roses and ginster providing a fabulous colour palette. Penny continues “The dried elements really complemented the soft natural colour of the floor”.
The ceremony set up was angled at the uncovered 400-year-old staircase with a curved aisle, providing a new and interesting focal point. The florals cascaded from the old wooden staircase to the floor where they met a natural linen base with candles surrounding rattan rugs where the couple would stand. The candlelight and the shine of the floor metered subtle reflections.
“We arranged pale wood plinths and wicker tub chairs for the newlyweds and we softened the door light with a series of hanging drapes.” added Penny.
Godwick’s rustic trestle tables were set up for tablescape inspiration and dressed with low terracotta dish arrangements and ceramic and amber glass bud vessels to give depth and tone in little clusters. CMA Hire provided copper cutlery and white crockery for a modern rustic appeal that combined with knotted napkins for a relaxed and organic look. The copper cutlery combined beautifully with brass, gold and pale wood candlestick holders from The Little Lending Company.
The team also created a grazing station with multiple layers of wooden platters setting the scene for Florentina to create a delicious and colouful lunch. Vintage chopping boards, wicker bowls and florals finished the look.
All-in-all the weekend providing some inspirational internal wedding décor for both potential and existing Godwick couples as well as unveiling the new polished concrete floor that brings an industrial rustic edge to the 450-year-old barn.
