‘Home Tour’ of the Hand-Painted Bridal Suite at Pennard House, Somerset
Pennard House have been busy renovating the Billiard Room to create a rather pretty Bridal Suite, the newly renamed Orchard Room, within the Grade II listed stately home in Somerset. The decadent surroundings, sumptuous bed and roll-top bath are complemented by an exquisite mural created by well-known artist Frederick Wimsett.
Inclusive within wedding hire of Pennard House, the Orchard Room has become the new focal point for Brides on their big day. Pennard House have designed a dream-like sanctuary for Bridal party preparations and touch-ups throughout the event.
Brides at Pennard House can even enjoy a complimentary night in the Orchard Room, waking up to stunning views across the south-facing lawns to start their married life. Wimsett’s exquisite painting has also created the perfect backdrop for wedding photography within the classically decorated Bridal Suite.

The renovation has been designed by the Pennard House team to transform the original Billiard Room into a feminine bedroom, with personal touches and exquisite details throughout. Described as “soft blue grey reminiscent of a West Country evening mist”, the choice of Farrow & Ball’s shade demonstrates the attention to detail that Pennard House is well known for. With a Burlington roll-top bath, marble fireplace and a soft bespoke lighting scheme, every luxury has been considered to fulfil the Brides’ desires in this feminine haven.
The enchanting surroundings of Pennard House inform Wimsett’s work in the Orchard Room, his signature birds flying between delicate branches, echoing the Bohemian romanticism that Pennard House exudes.
His use of understated colours has created a soft, vintage atmosphere, mirroring the rich heritage and classic elegance that charms guests at Pennard House. Soft blossom within the complex and intricate design invokes memories of the Orchards, drawing the beautiful surroundings inside, within the renovated space.
