Hello From Walcot Hall

Walcot Hall is a beaut. I love this venue beyond words and having spent some time there I know first-hand just how unique and special it really is.

Steeped in history, featuring an abundance of period features and charming interiors, this beautiful Georgian Manor House was formerly residence to Lord Clive of India and overlooks a lake and rolling parkland with beautiful gardens to the rear. The drive to the Hall takes you over a bridge crossing the lakes, up a tree-lined avenue and to a carriage sweep in front of the main house.

If you haven’t yet come across this gem in our directory then you can get to know them a little bit better today!

Caitlin, General Manager at Walcot Hall, is here to tell you more…

Notes from Walcot Hall

Caitlin says…

We are so lucky that because of our relaxed friendly, unstuffy approach we attract the most wonderful couples. We find that couples who book Walcot Hall have a creative streak, they love that it’s interesting and quirky and although the venue has a lot going on anyway our couples always manage to put their own stamp on it.

The turquoise Ballroom is where we hold wedding breakfasts and receptions, although it is also licenced so couples can choose to marry in there too. I think the stunning turquoise ballrooms has to be my favourite room with its full length windows, plaster ceiling and stunning chandeliers. It looks amazing in the day with the light pouring in but when the sun goes down, we close the shutters and dim the lights it’s a great party room!

We have the Main Hall in the house which is licensed for indoor wedding ceremonies and we have a beautiful summer house licensed in the gardens so couples can have a lovely garden wedding in the warmer months. The gardens are vast so couples can utilise the space with a drinks reception, games and endless photo opportunities.

When it comes to accommodation, it’s hard to know where to start?!

Walcot Hall has a variety of accommodations on site although all self catering. These range from traditional cottages in the old stable yard to our tin Chapel in the woods, a converted timber framed ‘Wheelwright’s Shop’ and also a range of glamping options for the more adventurous including yurts, traditional travellers’ caravans and even a fire truck! The variety of accommodation really is one of Walcot’s biggest selling points as we can accommodate over 100 guests on site so technically a whole wedding party can all decamp here for the length of a wedding weekend!

The venue hire is for 48 hours so couples can really make the most of the estate and not feel rushed. Also with the accommodation available couples can make a whole weekend of it and spend a large amount of time with their loved ones.

For 2018 we will have new accommodation sleeping a further 6 guests!

Aren’t these pictures fab? They perfectly capture the essence of this outstanding venue! But if you want to see even more then why not check out the Home Tour we did here and my very own Glamping experience can be found here.
