‘Under the Tuscan Sun’ at Chapel House Estate

‘Under the Tuscan Sun’ at Chapel House Estate

Summer has well and truly arrived, and with it, that irresistible urge to recreate the magic of Italian celebrations a little closer to home. Chapel House Estate, with its 35 acres of Kent countryside and stunning gardens, provided the perfect canvas for this Italian-inspired editorial, capturing destination wedding sophistication without the travel logistics.

Think sun-kissed styling, pretty parasols, and those essential vibrant lemons scattered across meticulously draped tables (no Italian-inspired shoot is complete without citrus charm, naturally). The soft palette of blues, creamy whites, and blush tones creates an atmosphere so transportive, you’ll find yourself craving aperitivo hour before noon. Over to photographer and planning extraordinaire C&C Imagery to share how they brought this effortlessly sophisticated vision to life.

The outdoor ceremony space and light-filled Glass House enabled us to bring our vision to life, offering versatility in layout and design.

the venue

Chapel House Estate provided the perfect backdrop for this editorial, with its beautifully restored architecture and elegant, landscaped gardens. With a refined yet relaxed atmosphere, it struck the ideal balance between English countryside charm and destination-inspired serenity. The outdoor ceremony space and light-filled Glass House enabled us to bring our vision to life, offering versatility in layout and design. Its clean, contemporary style paired effortlessly with the more romantic elements of our shoot, making it a natural fit for our Italian-inspired concept.

The Vision

This shoot was all about evoking the charm of an Italian destination wedding, but here in the UK. We wanted to inspire couples who dream of a Tuscan-style celebration without the logistics of travelling abroad. The focus was on elegant, elevated styling with an effortless, sun-kissed feel — soft textures, romantic florals, and a sense of relaxed luxury running through every detail. From the garden plinths to the colour palette, we wanted it to feel transportive, joyful, and timeless.

The Palette

We opted for a palette of soft blues, creamy whites, and blush-toned pastels — a fresh and romantic combination that’s perfect for spring or summer weddings. The colours nodded to traditional Mediterranean scenes, with the blue echoing the skies and tiles of Italy, while the soft pastels brought a delicate contrast. Lemons were added to the table decor for a subtle Italian touch and to lift the overall palette with a pop of citrus.

The Fashion

We showcased three bridal looks to reflect different elements of destination bridal style. First, a floral lace and embroidered gown, paired with a sheer cathedral veil, brought a soft, romantic feel. The nude undertone of the dress added warmth and paired beautifully with the pastel palette. Second, we featured a sleek silk gown — classic and minimal — echoing the understated elegance of Italian bridal fashion. Styled with a delicate, cathedral-length lace veil, it was both refined and modern.

Finally, we included a bridal mini, which is set to continue trending in 2025. Perfect for a pre-wedding event, evening reception, or hen party, this playful look was full of personality and ideal for brides wanting a second outfit to dance the night away.

The Decor & Styling

The ceremony was styled with natural stone plinths, layered with garden-style floral arrangements and clusters of vases at varying heights, creating an altar space that felt organic and intentionally unstructured. For the reception, long banquet tables were fully draped in soft blue linens, bringing a luxurious depth to the room. The florals were arranged in delicate white bowls and designed with movement in mind, creating an elegant, meandering feel across the tables. Gold cutlery, glass charger plates, and Italian-inspired tableware elevated the tablescape, while lemons added a fresh, playful nod to the Mediterranean theme. The look was timeless, tactile, and completely transportive.

The flowers

Florals were provided by A Touch of Kent, who curated a fresh, romantic mix of white, blush, and soft pastel blooms including delphiniums, hydrangeas, roses, and textured seasonal accents. The designs were kept light and airy, echoing the relaxed yet refined Italian style. The statement plinth display framed the ceremony space, while the table florals maintained an intimate scale that encouraged conversation. Every floral element was created with movement and softness, allowing the flowers to feel like an extension of the landscape.

for couples

This editorial was designed to be both inspirational and achievable. Whether you’re planning a wedding in the UK or dreaming of something destination-inspired closer to home, the soft colour palette, versatile florals, and elegant table styling can easily be adapted to suit different venues and seasons. Repurpose ceremony flowers to frame your top table, choose light linens to lift your tablescape, and don’t be afraid to play with texture and height. Most of all, we wanted to show that you can achieve a destination wedding feel without ever having to leave the country.
