Francesca’s bridesmaids wore silk dresses, while Jack and his groomsmen opted for tweed suits, a perfect nod to autumn. Burnt orange and deep green florals by Eden Wild tied it all together. From a homemade cake to a quiet moment together at their sweetheart table, every detail was chosen with love—and it truly showed.
We loved Dodford Manor, the surrounding countryside, the sheep in the fields, the long, winding road into the venue, and especially the views! We wanted sunset photos, and it just so happened that this venue had the perfect view of it.
I chose silk dresses for the bridesmaids as they capture the light perfectly and give an elegance that you may not otherwise get with other materials. As it was an Autumn wedding, we chose tweed suits, which fitted the scene at the venue and the time of year perfectly in our eyes. We chose green and burnt orange, again because of the time of year, and they contrasted well. We took a risk with these dresses but felt it worked, especially when we had some fun with the leather jackets and white sunglasses, too!
We wanted a warm, autumnal theme with greens and burnt oranges. Suzie at Eden Wild was just the best. She has so much passion for what she does, and it really showed in her work that day. We chose flowers that complemented the burnt orange, green, and autumn themes, with a hint of white in places.
My good friend’s mum made our cake; we chose it not only because it was delicious but also because of its sentimental value to us.
Simon and Karla from Sky Photography – in a word, WOW – firstly, they were a joy to work with; being a husband and wife partnership, they worked on a level only a husband and wife could. They were so in tune with one another it was unbelievable, and the end product clearly showed this. All day, they would be out of sight, and no pressure was felt by anyone, which allowed for natural-looking photos to be taken. Our requests were understood, especially for elderly and close relatives, with some special shots captured for a lifetime of memories. We are so glad we chose Sky.
The best part of the day was having dinner together. We opted for a sweetheart table because many married friends always told us we wouldn’t spend any time together on our wedding day. So, having our meal together on our wedding day was the best choice we made. That small time we had together for the meal was the best part of the day for us!
Find time to sit back and take everything in because the day goes so quickly and is over in a flash.
