The Setting

Set in a small private magical woodland, Upthorpe Wood is located just 9 miles outside Bury St Edmunds with the A14 providing great road links.

Their nearest train stations are Bury St Edmunds, Diss, Stowmarket and Thurston.

The woodland is accessible for all.

The Vibe

Upthorpe Wood open each year between May – September and host just a limited number of weddings.

At the wood, they love to encourage their couples to create a day which is individual and unique. They have no preconceived ideas as to how a wedding should be. From outdoor dining, whether that be in the garden or woodland to entertainment ideas such as mariachi bands, acoustic duos, wedding illustrators… there’s so many interesting and different options available to couples.

The team love nothing more than a relaxed vibe, a day filled with your closest family and friends, be that boho, festival or ethereal style. With exclusive use of the venue, which includes their fabulous unique woodland barn, cartlodge (perfect for dining) woodland decks and dens, their venue has been designed to create individual spaces to use through the course of the day without being too large as to ‘lose’ guests.

As a blank canvas venue, they’ve included all the ‘boring’ but essential stuff such as water, toilets, lighting, catering areas, electric and parking so it’s less to have to plan for.
