Milling Barn is a beautifully restored 17th-century oak barn set in the peaceful Hertfordshire countryside near the village of Throcking. Surrounded by rolling fields and rustic farmland, the venue combines historic charm with a relaxed, romantic atmosphere. With exposed beams, high ceilings, and soft natural light throughout the barns, it offers an effortlessly beautiful backdrop for couples looking for a countryside celebration with character and warmth.

Couples can exchange vows in the Oak Barn, a stunning ceremony space full of original features, atmospheric lighting, and timeless rustic charm. Its wooden beams, high vaulted ceiling, and natural textures create a romantic and intimate setting. The ceremony space flows seamlessly into the surrounding barns and outdoor areas, allowing the day to unfold naturally from one moment to the next.

Milling Barn offers three versatile spaces designed for every part of the celebration. The spacious Milling Barn is ideal for wedding breakfasts and evening celebrations, accommodating up to 144 daytime guests and 250 evening guests. The characterful Dairy Barn provides a relaxed space for drinks, mingling, or extra seating, while the patio and outdoor lawns offer lovely spots for photos and golden-hour moments.

On-site accommodation is available for couples and their guests, providing a convenient, comfortable stay after the celebrations. Milling Barn has 8 en-suite bedrooms, including the Honeymoon suite, sleeping up to 16 guests.

All food at Milling Barn is prepared by the in-house chef team, offering a diverse menu to suit different tastes and seasons. From relaxed dining to elegant multi-course meals, dishes are freshly prepared on-site and designed to complement a warm, celebratory atmosphere. Couples can further personalise their day by hiring items such as table décor, indoor and outdoor props, neon signs, LED lighting, garden games, and the Selfie Photo Station. In-house DJ and lighting packages are also available to transform the evening celebrations.

Nearby market towns such as Royston, Buntingford, and Baldock offer additional places to stay, eat, and explore, making it easy for guests to enjoy the local area before or after the wedding.
