As a licensed venue, Garthmyl Hall proudly hosts civil and humanist weddings on-site. For those inclined towards tradition with a touch of charm, churches in nearby Berriew and Montgomery provide the perfect backdrop.
As the “I do” s give way to confetti and celebratory cheers, their experienced bar and catering teams will pamper you and your guests with glasses of fizz, bespoke cocktails, and/or local beers perfectly paired with a selection of elegant canapés -the perfect backdrop for catching up with old friends and making new ones!
For your Wedding Breakfast, you have several choices, including the house, the gardens, the Orangery, or the Marquee, which can accommodate up to 200 guests. Their winter and wet weather options are just as inviting – ask the team about the Gentleman’s Bar, Living Room, and the Orangery as backup options for your peace of mind. Imagine roaring fires, whiskey, red wine, starry nights, pretty winter florals and the chance of snow!
When it’s finally time to wind down, the Cellar Bar offers a cosy spot for a final nightcap before retiring to one of the luxurious guest bedrooms.
The accommodation options include the Hall itself, a variety of charming cottages in the Stables, and the Boathouse, which together can host up to 50 guests for two or more nights. Although different in style, they each echo the eclectic elegance of Garthmyl Hall.
The Hall, a perfect blend of house and hotel, features ten luxury en-suite bedrooms which can accommodate 23 guests across double rooms and a family room. Each space has a unique character, handpicked furnishings, local chocolates, and Molton Brown toiletries. For additional guests, the beautifully converted Stables and stunning Boathouse offer luxurious retreats for couples and families. Though these are optional extras and aren’t included in the venue hire cost, they perfectly complement the Hall’s accommodation.
Four catering partners at Garthmyl Hall offer tailored menus to suit your celebration. Comyn Bruce, Tallulah & Co, Paisley Flour, and Wild Garlic specialise in creating multi-course meals that reflect the season and your preferences. Whether it’s an elegant five-course meal in the Ballroom or Marquee, a relaxed BBQ by the Orangery, or a hog roast in the Walled Garden, every dish uses fresh, local ingredients.
Drinks are no less carefully considered. Bespoke packages, including personalised cocktails, kick off your celebration, followed by a curated wine list featuring beloved classics and unique finds. Flexible corkage options allow you to share personal favourites with your guests. We have just had my daughter’s wedding at Garthmyl Hall. From the first meeting we had with Lucieanne in August 2022, through all the wedding plans/preparations, to the wedding weekend itself, the Garthmyl Hall experience was 100% faultless. We didn’t meet any of the owners and didn’t need to as Lucieanne and her right hand man Darren and all staff were above and beyond helpful, kind, considerate and just make things happen. They just know how to run a wedding event without any issues, and they make the whole event and venue stunning beyond belief. We were expecting the weekend to be fabulous, but it was 10-fold better than we could have dreamed or hoped for.

If we could rate higher than 5 stars we would. Garthmyl Hall is an absolutely exceptional wedding venue, the whole process from arranging our initial viewing to the actual weekend was flawless.
All of our guests commented on the stunning location, decor and the amazing staff. Heather, who we met on our initial viewing and dealt with all the way through to our wedding, was incredible throughout the whole process and ensured that everything ran smoothly on the day. From helping to set up on the Friday to clearing down on the Sunday Heather was on hand to help where needed and we cannot thank her enough for making our weekend amazing – truly a credit to the industry.
From arrival on the Friday it is clear that the hall go above and beyond to make your weekend special. A special mention to Holly and Laurie on the bar who looked after us on the Friday and Saturday – both so lovely and attentive!

When we say that we were blown away by every aspect of this place, it is not an exaggeration. We booked Garthmyl Hall with Julia to host our wedding, and as soon as we drove up to the main hall, we instantly knew we had found the most beautiful setting for such a special time. It takes your breath away. Around every corner & wall; inside and outside of this venue, there is something that you’ll want to incorporate into your day/visit, everything has been super carefully thought out in an exquisite fashion. From the bright, summery, botanical orangery bar serving reception drinks to the atmospheric, intimate, hidden fun cellar bar housing the later night drinkers they have not missed any details!

My best friend recently celebrated their wedding at Garthmyl Hall. Throughout our three-day stay, the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. We all had such a fantastic time, we didn’t want to leave on the last day! The staff, house and grounds are all fabulous. Darren, Lisa and the rest of the team made us feel at home and were on hand throughout the weekend to ensure everything ran smoothly. It was a perfect weekend, and the bride and groom and all their guests had such a magical time.

Garthmyl Hall is literally heaven on earth. We got married here on the hottest day of the year (31st July 2024) and wow, what can I say! From the moment we viewed this venue in September 2022 we were blown away. The place and the grounds need no words…. They are absolutely breathtaking. But the one thing I want to mention most is the staff. They are just out of this world.
From the moment we booked with Julia, we have had seamless service. In the early stages of planning, Julia would answer my million and one questions – a gem! Then Lucieanne became our coordinator, and well, she is an angel on earth. Leading up to the wedding and on the wedding day itself she was just incredible, she literally could not do enough for us. She would be working outside her hours sorting things for us, and we couldn’t have done it without her. She really is so special and made us feel like Garthmyl was our home.
The bar staff were incredible (Lisa was awesome) and I must mention the legend that is Darren! All our guests talked about how amazing he was – he literally didn’t stop all day and was on hand for absolutely everything. What a lovely guy who we all have lush memories of. The chef cooking the BBQ the night before was amazing, and I have never tasted a BBQ as good as that in my life! I would highly recommend the BBQ the night before. I have been to many weddings and I think anyone would struggle to get a venue as good as this. If you can change your venue, change it and book Garthmyl. You will not be disappointed.
The accommodation on site is absolutely beautiful. We came all the way from Swansea to get married here (2.5 hours), and I would travel 25 hours to do it all again! We will keep coming back to Garthmyl to stay in the beautiful Stables accommodation and all the fun amazing events they have. It’s such a special place to us. All the guests said it was the most beautiful venue they had ever been to. Don’t think about it, just book this place! Heaven on earth. If you want a wedding venue that looks like Buckingham Palace but feels like home, you have it here at Garthmyl.

I literally don’t know where to begin with thanking you. Words are just not enough for the amazing service you give. Everyone was blown away with the venue, they couldn’t believe how stunning it was. And my dreams came true of being married outside, I mean how perfect was the weather, the flowers, the music the walled garden was just magical.
Heather you are an absolute star, your attention to detail, your care and thoughtfulness made the whole event so easy. I would also like you to pass on my thanks to Andy who cooked the BBQ, I know we mentioned this but just to say again we had so many compliments about how great the bbq food was. And I would also like you to pass on my thanks to your bar staff who were so polite, helpful and just brilliant.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making our day so special. I can not rave about Garthmyl Hall enough!! I am so sad it’s all over and I envy the wedding party turning up today and going into MY honeymoon suite and getting married tomorrow!

Words are not enough to describe how magical this place is. From the moment we arrived on Friday until we left on Monday morning we felt so incredibly special, looked after by the most amazing staff.
Special shout out to Laura, Darren and Lisa. Laura runs the show. She is calm, kind, gently assertive and ensured everything ran smoothly so we didn’t need to worry about a thing- even sorted out the burnt sausage burial for Anita to guarantee the sun came out for the ceremony!
Darren quietly beavers away in the background and doesn’t miss a thing. He is a fabulous chef, and he was so patient with me in the kitchen. Each night, he stayed to the end to ensure we had everything we needed. He was so incredibly patient with all the late night party revellers and carried out his jobs in a quiet, respectful and understated way. What a legend. Lisa is a treasure and such a hard worker. She looked after us all and served us drinks the entire weekend with a smile on her face. Nothing was too much bother and she was so much fun.
We can’t thank you and all the rest of the staff for allowing us to feel like Garthmyl was our home for the weekend. The photos show its beauty but you actually have to be there to experience the magic. The main house, the grounds, the walled garden and the boat house are all so lovingly restored and cared for that it actually takes your breath away.
The wedding on Saturday felt like a dream. It was as close to perfect as you could get. The next day, we sat in the sun catching up with people we hadn’t managed to speak to at the wedding. We drank pimms and danced to the steel band. The staff even set up the room with a projector so we could watch the football. And finished the night with a rave in the ballroom. It was simply the best weekend of our lives, and Garthmyl made it all possible. We will never ever forget you. You make dreams come true!

We were well and truly blown away by our venue.
Two years ago we viewed garthmyl hall for our wedding venue and fell in love. Julia and Heather did everything they could to make our day as smooth sailing as possible any problems or questions we had the did there all to rectify and make sure it was out right and we were happy. Julia went above and beyond to ensuring we had everything we wanted even down to order an ale for the men in our wedding party. The whole weekend was amazing. We really can’t thank Julia and her team enough.
A huge thank you to Heather and Darren who looked after us through the weekend as well and made all our guests feel so welcome and all the special touches through the day, even down to the Sunday taking a breather to take in the weekend Darren surprisingly bought us coffee to the gardens just so we could have a minute to ourselves, something so small went so far and we honestly can’t thank them enough for making our wedding weekend a dream come true.

What can we say…you will not find a better wedding venue than Garthmyl Hall!
We first met Julia in 2020, and were welcomed with tea & coffee in front of a roaring fire to discuss what we wanted from our wedding weekend. Instantly we were blown away by Julia’s friendly and relaxed approach, and her attention to detail didn’t lapse at any point. We booked the hall immediately! Even on a chilly wet October day, the venue and grounds were simply stunning. Each room is decorated beautifully, the walled garden really takes your breath away, and the additional accommodation of the Stables is so convenient!
We got married here in June 2022, and I would like to thank Julia for all her help on the build up to our special weekend. She was only ever a text away and always readily available with a solution.
Luckily, we hired Garthmyl Hall from Friday to Monday and having the extra night was so worth it – it really felt like home from home and gave us a chance to properly relax with our friends & family. The wedding day was over in a flash, so enjoying a brunch and BBQ on the Sunday was perfect. Julia was faultless throughout the weekend and nothing was too much trouble including helping alter a bridesmaid dress an hour before the wedding (yes, really!!) and helping get marks out of my dress. She was very professional and attentive without being over the top, and she really made us feel relaxed! By the end of the weekend we felt like we’d gained a friend.
A huge shout out to Garthmyl’s staff too – from being welcomed with fizz upon arrival, to cocktail making all evening, and serving us the most beautiful food & drink, they couldn’t do enough to help us. They worked tirelessly all weekend but never let the late night show – they were always friendly, smiley and accommodating. They really help make Garthmyl Hall the special venue it is.

Despite 2 Covid cancellations, Garthmyl Hall remained flexible and focused throughout the planning. Despite a change of Planner in the process, the new planner, Heather, embraced our specific-needs and quickly built our trust. Heather is the perfect combination of efficiency, calming demeanour and personality. Everything, from the outstanding venue, the support you receive, to the attention to detail, to the cooperation of all the team, Garthmyl is just the perfect wedding venue.

Yes! The only set suppliers we have are three set caterers - you must choose from Tallulah's Catering, Wild Garlic or Comyn Bruce for your wedding meal. You are free to bring in any evening food supplier and any others you want (they will need to be approved by us first). We can also recommend several suppliers who have worked with us at the Hall and are familiar with the venue.
The drinks for your guests at the reception after the ceremony are provided by us. We offer a range of options and can also create bespoke packages from G&Ts to Espresso Martinis. The bar will also be open during this time.
For the wedding breakfast, you are welcome to bring your own table wine and pay a corkage fee - the same rule applies to the toast drink. Alternatively, you can choose wine and fizz from our carefully curated wine list.
A weekday wedding starts with arrival on Tuesday from 2pm, with the wedding taking place on Wednesday and departing on Thursday after a chilled morning and breakfast. A weekend wedding means you can arrive at 2pm on Friday, the wedding day is on Saturday, and check out is on Sunday. There is an option to extend your stay for an extra night to prolong the party!
