The Setting
Chapel House Estate in Kent, once a cherished family farm, is now transformed into an exclusive-use luxury destination for weddings accommodating 2 to 150 guests.
Nestled just outside Minster in Thanet, the Estate seamlessly integrates into the Kentish farmland, a stone’s throw from the scenic coast. Spanning 35 acres of organic landscape, this expansive venue provides a distinctive and natural backdrop for intimate celebrations in the serene countryside.
Accessed through the reinstated north drive via a private gated entrance, guests will find a car park for over 80 vehicles, equipped with multiple EV charging points, a testament to the Estate’s commitment to modern, environmentally conscious practices. Beyond this point, a no-car policy is in place to preserve the estate’s pristine natural setting.
Access by high-speed train is direct from London St Pancreas to the brand-new Parkway Station. Just one hour from the heart of London or just 35 minutes from Battersea by Helicopter.
The Vibe
Built in 1290, Chapel House resides at the heart of the Estate. Its interior is designed and considered for luxury and comfort, effortlessly capturing the inherent charm and character of the house and its stunning gardens. The converted Chapel contains five bedrooms. Four rooms are en-suite, one has adult-sized bunk beds, and the honeymoon suite includes a private terrace overlooking the gorgeous Arts and Crafts garden.
For outdoor ceremonies in the heart of Kent, what could be more romantic than a Wild Apple Garden Orchard for up to 150 guests? During inclement weather or for winter weddings, Chapel House Estate includes the converted rustic Old Malt Granary for indoor ceremonies.
Nine Hideaway Lodges combine contemporary design and understated luxury in the west paddock. The Estate also boasts a converted Old Malt Granary for indoor ceremonies and a state-of-the-art Thorne Banqueting Barn.
The morning after, couples can meet their guests for breakfast in the No 9 onsite restaurant-also available for baby showers and for couples who love to plan parties, they can book their 1st, 5th, or 10th wedding anniversary party!
Sustainability and the support of the local economy are a big focus for the Estate’s founders, who are working towards a low carbon footprint. The executive head chef sources produce and ingredients locally for banqueting and the restaurant. Transportation to the venue by train is actively encouraged, with a 24-hour chauffeur service shuttling guests wherever needed.
In Spring 2025, Chapel House Estate will unveil its new oak-framed glass courtyard. The courtyard will boast floor-to-ceiling glass walls that flood the space with natural light, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere. It will also include advanced heating and cooling systems, bi-folding doors, a retractable glass ceiling, and be designed for full accessibility.
