With its far-reaching views, beautiful gardens and elegant interiors, Broadfield is one of the most special wedding venues in Herefordshire. This historic country estate, located outside the village of Bodenham and only a short drive from Hereford, spans a thousand-acre farm. Originally dating back to the 14th century and renovated in 2018, Broadfield retains its rich, historical charm while providing luxurious comforts. The interiors showcase timeless wood panelling, impressive stone fireplaces, and stucco ceilings seamlessly paired with modern amenities like spacious showers and plush, king-sized beds. The estate’s lush gardens and extensive grounds create an idyllic countryside retreat, perfect for a range of wedding styles, from rustic to sophisticated.
Broadfield offers several options for wedding ceremonies, both indoors and out.
Couples can exchange vows amidst five acres of private gardens, choosing from romantic spots like the rose garden, dappled woodlands, the apple orchard, or the south-facing lawns. For intimate gatherings, the wood-panelled dining room seats up to 60, while the inner hall offers sunlit seating for up to 50. The fold yard, a distinctive hexagonal structure, accommodates up to 150 guests and can be adjusted for open-air or enclosed celebrations. For those desiring a church ceremony, the historic Church of St Michael and All Angels is just nearby in Bodenham.
Reception options at Broadfield are as versatile as they are picturesque. For smaller weddings, the dining room’s grand, elegant ambience is ideal for up to 50 guests, with dancing in the separate bar building as night falls. Larger gatherings of up to around 90 can enjoy dining and dancing in the fold yard with its adaptable structure, or even larger groups of up to 170 can host a tipi or marquee overlooking the rolling Herefordshire countryside.
Broadfield’s bar, conveniently situated between the fold yard and back lawns, is fully stocked and adds a cosy spot for celebrations. The south-facing terrace offers a lovely setting for drinks receptions, with direct access to the rose garden, while the house’s principal downstairs rooms provide a warm, inviting space for indoor gatherings, complete with open log fires.
Broadfield is your country home-from-home, and hire includes a two-night, three-day stay. Arriving the day before your wedding, you can relax into your celebrations, enjoying time with family and friends. The day after your wedding, enjoy a lazy start, reliving the day before and spending time with your loved ones. With weekend check out on Sunday lunchtime or later, you are welcome to have guests come back to Broadfield to say goodbye before you check out.
Broadfield accommodates up to 24 guests for overnight stays in eight beautifully appointed bedrooms, including a splendid wedding suite with a primary wood-panelled bedroom, a refined bathroom, and a dressing room that can be transformed into a ninth bedroom. The venue also offers four extra put-up beds, a sofa bed, and cots as needed.
The nearby Coach House, just a short stroll from the main house, provides additional accommodation for six or seven guests, bringing the total on-site capacity to 31. Broadfield also offers house guests the option of locally sourced meals or self-catering, with all amenities included for a comfortable stay.
Broadfield allows couples to select any caterer they prefer, with the use of the professional catering kitchen included. The choice is entirely flexible, from fine dining to wood-fired feasts or street food. The Broadfield team can also recommend trusted local caterers to provide exquisite meals tailored to each couple’s wishes.
For drinks, Broadfield offers a curated list of wines and spirits, though couples are welcome to bring their own beverages with corkage applied, and the bar is available for guests to purchase drinks throughout the event. Broadfield does not require corkage for house guest drinks on the days before and after the wedding.
Broadfield maintains a commitment to sustainability by prioritising local suppliers. The venue also produces its own Herefordshire-grown sparkling wine, cider, and apple juice.
Broadfield is easy to get to. It is just 20 minutes north of Hereford, with a mainline train station to Birmingham and London, and 10 minutes to Leominster, with direct trains to Manchester and Cardiff.
Motorway links are just over half an hour away, and Birmingham airport is an hour and 15 minutes drive.
Local accommodation is accessible for guests not staying on-site with plenty of house hire properties, B&B accommodation and hotels in the surrounding villages and towns.
Before we were even engaged, we fell in love with Broadfield Court and knew when our time came, it just had to be here.
Frances and her whole family become like a second family and as soon as we met them, we knew we had chosen the right place. Frances is just the most incredible support with a wealth of experience, expertise and guidance. The whole planning process was a dream.
When our wedding finally came, Frances was always on hand, and their beautiful home became ours for the weekend. Our guests were blown away by the beauty of the building and grounds. Despite a rainy start to the day, Frances had plans A, B and C all sorted, and I was so relaxed all day, and luckily, it turned into the most beautiful day. The day ran so smoothly, and this was all down to the hardworking team we had.
The ability to spend all weekend here is what makes Broadfield so unique and special and we will always cherish the moments we shared here with our closest friends and family. All of the team and local suppliers were fantastic to work with and so professional but also lots of fun. It really does feel like one big family. Thank you to all involved with our wedding.
Married August 2024
Broadfield was the first venue we visited, and the search for the perfect wedding venue was over. We instantly fell in love with the charming interior and breathtaking grounds.
The wedding planning process was extremely smooth and stress-free. Fran was very attentive and talked us through our multiple options on how our wedding day could pan out. You can really tailor your wedding day to your unique style. We chose to have a woodland ceremony and drinks reception in the rose garden and hired two tipis for the lawn, which created a perfect space for dining and dancing, enjoying garden games and trips to the Broadfield bar for refreshments! The day ran like clockwork, and the Broadfield team were always on hand if we needed anything.
Our guests were as much in awe of the venue as we were, and we received so many comments on how beautiful our wedding was. We stayed at Broadfield from Friday to Sunday, which elongated our wedding to a whole weekend. We loved the fact we had accommodation for all of our immediate family and also our spaniels!
Married May 2023
The most incredible setup and stunning setting for a weekend wedding, family-owned Broadfield has such a personal feel yet professional execution!
Having been to see a few venues, we found everything so commercial that could fit over 150 people and had just about decided we would try and do something at home. Then we came across Broadfield, walked in and chatted with Fran and the team, and it was immediately obvious this was the place and the people! The smoothest process of planning, brainstorming and running on the day – so many guests commented on what an incredible hidden gem Broadfield is and asked how we found it. The house is amazing, though the gardens are equally so. We had a June wedding and spent almost all our time outside, but inside is also gorgeous for a colder season! All the rooms and unique and beautiful, too. Couldn’t recommend it as a venue and team highly enough. We’ll probably rent it for a future anniversary party just to be able to spend more time there!
Married June 2023
We opted to go with Broadfield for our wedding that took place in August 2023, and the whole experience was marvellous from start to finish. Helen and the team were hugely helpful over the long period leading up to the event and helped us with every step of the planning process, including highlighting things that were gorgeous. There are just so many areas to choose from when deciding where each part of the day should take place. We cannot overstate how great it is that Broadfield doesn’t hold weddings on consecutive days, so you can arrive in the afternoon the day before, stay overnight in the wonderfully comfortable and spacious bedrooms, have the wedding, then stay overnight again and leave the following morning. It made for a very relaxed and stress-free stay.
The wedding day itself went off perfectly, and the team worked hard to make sure everything went as it should. We can’t imagine any way it could have gone better. Top marks, and would happily recommend Broadfield to anyone on the hunt for a venue.
Married August 2023
How absolutely wonderful was our experience with the team at Broadfield? One word: exceptional.
Right from the beginning, when we showed initial interest, Fran and Alex were on hand to help us with every decision. From inviting us to one of their many wedding events, where you can meet suppliers and see some of the structures and decoration setup, to the final “I do” and the checking out. Fran was our Planner and was so understanding and reassuring – helping you not only choose everything you wanted but also saving a little bit here and there for the bits that weren’t needed. They have a wealth of trusted suppliers to choose from but are also open to you bringing some in. And even when you decide to ball it all up and start again, well, that’s okay with Fran, too. In short, the team are on it!
I was really nervous about planning a wedding, thinking I was never going to manage it without suffering some sort of breakdown, but Fran kept us buoyant and literally took all the hassle out of it. She was patient, kind, and empathetic—I think she’s probably seen it all before! And the rest of the team—it’s a family business—really welcomed you in as if you were one of their own.
The house itself is beautiful, with rolling landscape behind the breathtaking gardens, and a forest glade that makes you feel as though you’re getting married amongst magic. And when the lights go down and the guests are free to wander, the whole thing feels like an event rather than a party. People are still coming up to me now and telling me it was the best wedding they have ever been to. Even our international friends said they kept referring back to the pictures of Broadfield on their website, unable to let the place go and accept that it was all over.
We feel honoured to be part of Broadfield’s legacy and hope to continue sharing that bond long into the future. You cannot go wrong with Broadfield. It is a magical place with a team that will go the extra mile, even a few further, to make yours as special as one of their own.
Married July 2024
For the care and attention shown to us from the moment of first contact to the big day itself, we cannot express enough gratitude to Fran and Alex for their support in ensuring our wedding day was everything we had dreamed of.
In our opinion, Broadfield is the perfect wedding venue! Set in the beautiful Herefordshire countryside, surrounded by rolling hills and views for miles, with a stunning house inside and out, guests can’t help but be impressed. The grounds are simply beautiful and varied – meaning the opportunity for photos is endless.
For us, one of the main attractions was the ability to extend the celebrations over the entirety of the weekend, and with many of our guests able to stay on-site, it meant we could enjoy their company and the venue to the fullest. It really is your own paradise for the weekend, with no sense of being rushed out for another wedding to take place.
Although daunting, the planning was seamless with Fran’s support. Her knowledge and relationships with the best suppliers mean at every point of contact, you hear how glad they are to supply to a Broadfield wedding – more often than not, letting us know it is their favourite venue to work with. You have the ability to make the day exactly what you want, and Fran is on hand to make sure it happens, offering her excellent advice when you need it! Being a family-run business sets Broadfield apart from the rest, and the thoughtfulness, kindness and experience this family has shone through; you feel like they are friends for life! Above and beyond doesn’t do them justice; you will be in the safest of hands.
A couple of months have passed now, and our friends and family are still talking about the big day – we’ve heard that it is the best wedding people have been to regularly – and we might be a little biased, but we have to agree! Thank you, Fran, Alex and the Broadfield Family – our best day ever and memories for life. Broadfield will always be special to us and we can’t wait to come and visit!
Married September 2024
Our wedding at Broadfield Court in July 2024 was the best weekend of our lives!
For two years we have been supported by Helen to plan our dream wedding. She has been responsive and quick to support any idea that we had. In the days before the wedding, she made sure we had everything set and helped us change any details without a problem. Helen’s kindness and ability to manage everything made for the best time ever, and we will forever be grateful to her for making it all happen.
Broadfield itself is a beautiful venue. It was close to our families, so an ideal location. The surrounding area had a great amount of accommodation for our guests, and for our extra special guests, we could provide them with a room at Broadfield. The rooms are beautiful and well-sized and could accommodate a mix of our friends and family. The facilities have everything you need and more. Talking a walk in the gardens was a beautiful way to end our stay. We married in the forest, which was magical and everything I’d dreamed of. This is the perfect place for all your forest wedding fantasies!
We hope to stay at Broadfield again one day in the future to celebrate our anniversary. But for now, Broadfield will be a beautiful memory of ours!
Married July 2024
Wow, what a 4 day weekend! I cannot recommend this venue enough. We had the most incredible bespoke wedding; Fran was so open to our ideas, organised, lovely and on it. This venue allows you to do what you want with no set suppliers, and you get your own fantastic wedding planner thrown in! We didn’t want the weekend to end. Thank you so much Fran and team – you are superb.
Married September 2023
Broadfield is a flexible wedding venue which allows you to personalise your experience as much as you like. After the wedding, our friends and family commented that our wedding was very ‘us’, which is exactly what we wanted.
Fran and Alex are fantastic wedding planners. They guide you through the whole process and, importantly, make it enjoyable. They were very accommodating, including dealing with last-minute requests and changes, and nothing was too much trouble.
You can have the venue from Thursday to expand the wedding experience, which means we got to enjoy the beautiful house fully with our close families. We couldn’t recommend this venue more!
Married October 2024
We celebrated our wedding in August 2023 at Broadfield Court and it was the most perfect day we could have dreamed of! My husband is a wedding photographer and after all the beautiful wedding venues he wanted to show me this venue first. When we saw it, we fell in love with it immediately and we didn’t need to look any further!
The venue itself felt like home and all of our guests commented on how beautiful the building and the grounds were. Helen and the team took care of us as if we were one of their own. They were professional, kind and courteous from start to finish. We honestly cannot recommend this beautiful place highly enough. If you are considering getting married, please visit Broadfield, you won’t be disappointed!
Married August 2023
We had the perfect wedding at Broadfield in July. Initially, we fell in love with the gorgeous grounds, which included the woodland, rose garden, and many other spaces with gorgeous views all around. The house then offered many rooms that were decorated so tastefully that we thought it would suit all of our family (children and dogs included!).
When looking around, Frances, Alex and the team were so helpful, welcoming, and knowledgeable. They were also laid-back, and we were able to create our own individual wedding. After looking around many venues, all of these points were the reason why we both immediately knew it was the venue for us. The lead-up to the wedding was smooth and organised. Frances and the team were there when we needed them, and Frances was able to share some great recommendations. We really knew we were in the best hands. We also loved the two open days, which made us super excited for the big day!
When it got to the weekend of the wedding, we arrived on Friday and could relax and set up with our nearest and dearest. Frances had organised suppliers to come when needed and had been in touch with them, taking any extra stress off our hands. The big day came, and Frances and the team ran everything so smoothly. We enjoyed every second, and every one of our guests was blown away. It was really lovely having somewhere so unique and special.
We both 100% recommend having your wedding at Broadfield; it was our perfect day.
Married July 2024
Broadfield is a very special place, and I couldn’t recommend it enough as a wedding venue. One of the wonderful things about it is that there are so many beautiful areas to get married, have your reception drinks, or have your wedding breakfast that I imagine no two weddings they host there are ever the same. The other wonderful thing is the staff. It’s run by a family whose care, attention, passion, and hard work make you feel like you’re the only couple they’re working with. The team they have working for them is fantastic, too.
We chose the venue because we wanted a marquee reception, accommodation, and plenty of contingency plans so we didn’t need to worry about the weather. With spacious rooms downstairs in the house and a cosy bar area, your guests would still have a lovely time exploring the venue, even if you did have a rainy day. We were lucky and had sun, and it was gorgeous. We got married in the fold yard, and there were bees and butterflies busy in the lavender behind us.
Our guests were in English countryside heaven for the weekend and will be thinking of an excuse to return at some point. Our only regret is not persuading the owner to let us stay the Sunday night, too, so we could have really savoured it. It’s a stunning venue; you feel like you’re giving your guests a real treat. You also get a professional, attentive and thorough coordinator at every step during the planning stages. Their recommended suppliers list is extensive, and I would definitely trust any recommendation they give. I could go on – we loved it and couldn’t be happier with our choice of venue.
Married August 2024
When we started wedding planning, choosing a venue felt like a minefield. We wanted something where we could celebrate our own way. Broadfield was everything and more.
From the moment we contacted Broadfield, we knew we were in safe hands. Fran took us through each step of the wedding planning, allowing us to explore how we wanted to celebrate our day whilst always being on hand to provide advice. Broadfield allowed us to bring personal touches from bringing our own booze from our travels, having our dog by our side and, most importantly, choosing food that suited our budget and our vibe without it being prescribed to us!
The venue itself is stunning and feels so unique. With so many options for ceremony, drinks, and dancing, I’m 99% sure that every wedding at Broadfield is completely different to the ones before. Importantly, the venue also allowed for spaces where elderly relatives were able to take breaks through the day without them missing out. It really felt like a home away from home.
We highly, highly recommend it!
Married October 2023
Thank you to Helen and the whole team for making our day so special. From the beginning to the end, every detail was thought of, and nothing was too much hassle. I cannot express in words just how helpful the team were and responsive to our every need. And, well, the venue. Just wow! Thank you so much, Broadfield Court – you were amazing.
Married July 2023
Perfection!
As soon as we saw Broadfield and met Fran and the team, we knew we had to get married there! Not only is Broadfield beautiful, but the flexibility you get to create the wedding of your dreams is unmatched. Broadfield is truly unique, and the individuality it allows puts it in its own league!
Fran, Alex, and their team are absolutely INCREDIBLE! Nothing is too much trouble, and the communication and organisation are unreal. It made the whole planning process an absolute dream. Everyone asked if we were stressed during wedding planning. There is nothing to be stressed about when you’re supported so fantastically by an amazing group of people!
It was a truly special and unique experience. We are sad our time with Broadfield has come to an end, but we will be back!! (Another perk: you can book Broadfield for a stay any time of the year!)
Run, don’t walk; you’d be silly to miss out on this one! We can’t thank Broadfield enough.
Married August 2024
We can’t shout enough praise about Broadfield Court, Fran and Alex! The property itself is stunning. We’re an outdoorsy couple who were looking for somewhere to represent our passion for woodland, flowers and the countryside and after searching all over Herefordshire, nothing else came close to the natural beauty and warmth of Broadfield. Their grounds have it all: a vineyard, orchard trees, rolling hills, rose gardens and a forest!
We were even lucky enough with the weather to hold our wedding ceremony in their magical woodland area, and Fran went above and beyond to make it happen. Despite a rainy morning, she coordinated everything seamlessly —moving stacks of chairs and ensuring every detail was perfect until I walked down the aisle.
One of the greatest perks of choosing Broadfield Court is Fran and Alex themselves. From start to finish, they supported us by checking in regularly and ensuring we had access to brilliant local suppliers – from coaches to hotels to saxophonists; they knew the person for any creative vision. We even extended our stay to spend a third night there, hosting a Sunday family sports day on the lawn with those stunning views of the rolling hills—it truly felt like a fairytale weekend. The dining room was also perfect for a Friday family and bridal party buffet, and the rooms were spotlessly clean.
Fran’s attention to detail kept everything running smoothly, putting our minds completely at ease. The fact that our dog could join in the celebrations (with Fran even stopping him from sneaking some fruit cake!) shows how thoughtful and accommodating they are. Broadfield Court also provided ample space for our bridal party to stay – we loved the addition of the coach house – making it feel like the best, most joyful sleepover ever.
Thank you, Fran and Alex, for making us feel like royalty, knowing when to step back discreetly and when to be hands-on, and creating a magical space where we could celebrate our wedding weekend. Broadfield Court is truly special, and we couldn’t imagine a more perfect place to have kicked off our married life.
Married June 2024
As soon as we visited Broadfield Court, we knew that this was where we wanted to get married. It was clear how versatile the setting could be and how much we would be able to create our day just the way we had pictured it. We loved being able to use so many of the beautiful areas of Broadfield, both around the house and especially in the gardens, throughout the weekend of our wedding. The setting is so naturally beautiful that it needs very little decoration. It also took a lot of the worry out of planning a UK wedding, knowing that the inside of the venue was just as beautiful as the outside.
Being able to stay onsite throughout the weekend with some of our closest friends and family was a particular draw, especially as all the rooms are beautifully presented while also feeling homely and comfortable. The wedding day itself was so much more relaxed, knowing that all the most important people were already onsite.
Throughout the process of planning, the level of organisation from the Broadfield team, especially Fran, was exemplary. She was prepared for any eventuality and completely open to our ideas. She made the planning process extremely easy for us and could not have been more helpful, going above and beyond to make sure that not only the day itself but our entire weekend at Broadfield ran smoothly. Fran and Alex were consistently upfront about any additional costs, but overall, we cannot over-emphasise what excellent value Broadfield Court is: all our guests commented on how beautiful and peaceful it is and enjoyed exploring the house and grounds. We would highly recommend Broadfield Court.
Married September 2023
Broadfield Court was the perfect venue for our countryside, wildflower-themed summer wedding.
Before finding Broadfield, we’d looked at countless venues, and none felt quite like us. However, as soon as we stepped inside Broadfield, it felt right. From the beautiful house and wonderful garden to the woodland area, which was the ideal picturesque setting for our ceremony to take place—we were even treated to a visit from the cows in the neighbouring field!
The venue is perfect for those who want to personalise their wedding and experience the wonders of the Herefordshire countryside. Helen and all the staff at Broadfield were amazing – all our wishes were catered for and more, and the family-run approach gives the venue an extremely personal feel. Helen and the team were extremely organised and supportive throughout. We visited Broadfield multiple times – on open days and planning sessions which was very helpful to our planning.
A lovely feature was getting the venue from Friday to Sunday. It meant our wedding party and families could celebrate all together for an extraordinary weekend. As you can book the house for weekends away, we hope to be back one day—as we’ll truly miss Broadfield. For anyone looking for the perfect venue for a picturesque British countryside wedding, we’d strongly recommend Broadfield.
Married June 2024
We fell in love with Broadfield immediately. It is about 5 venues in one – gorgeous house, beautiful grounds, secluded woodland, rustic barn, and party bar. Fran, Alex and their team encouraged all of our crazy ideas and helped create the most special and personalised day for us. Having the exclusive use venue for a few days meant we could spend more time celebrating without ever feeling rushed. Every one of our guests was blown away – we cannot thank them enough.
Married July 2023
Broadfield Court is set in a wonderful rural location with stunning views from the house and gardens. We were wowed by it on our first viewing, and so were our guests on the day. The rooms are very comfortable, spacious and beautifully decorated. The house facilities are fantastic and provide all that you could need for a stay.
The Broadfield Court team are wonderful and fantastic at what they do. We were looked after by Helen, who supported us through the process well and was very organised. We utilised as many local suppliers as possible, some of whom were on the recommended supplier list and all of whom we were very pleased with. We were allowed to bring in some of our own also.
Broadfield Court allowed us a lot of flexibility in what we wanted to do as an exclusive-use venue. The service was very personal, which we found very refreshing after visiting a lot of venues. We had the venue for the weekend which allowed us and our chosen guests to enjoy time together in the house, set up and pack down without a rush and whilst everyone always says it goes by so fast, we did not feel that way.
We had a woodland wedding with tipis on the lawn. The staff were very helpful in setting up and packing down which was greatly appreciated, and all were very friendly.
We can very confidently recommend this venue to you.
Married April 2023
Yes, you can choose your own suppliers at Broadfield, although we are delighted to help with recommendations. Unlike many other venues, you can also choose your own caterers and Broadfield has the added benefit of a catering kitchen available for them to use, included in the hire. With our wedding team on hand, we can recommend suppliers of any kind, from florists to photographers to bands and beyond. Still, you are welcome to choose any supplier you wish, and we will support you with supplier logistics throughout.
Yes, Broadfield is exclusively yours for however long you would like your celebrations to last. You can stay for two nights, three nights, or even a week. We also do not do consecutive weddings, so you will never have another couple leaving as you arrive. We believe Broadfield should feel like your own private country estate for your stay.
We also have the three-bedroom coach house available for your stay, however long that is, so even more of your loved ones can join you for your celebrations.
Yes, absolutely. We have many lovely outdoor locations for your ceremony - the rose garden, the woods, the orchard and the south-facing lawns are perfect.
However, we always have a Plan B, with our dining room or inner hall available for smaller indoor weddings or our fold yard structure for up to 150 guests. If you'd like your wedding breakfast outside, we are delighted to make that happen and ensure you have a wet weather option.
Yes, we can do weddings of any size, from just the couple and their witnesses to around 170 people. Broadfield is adaptable and can feel wonderfully intimate or accommodate a big celebration.
Broadfield's main manor house is perfect for weddings of 50 or under. The house offers beautiful ceremony and wedding breakfast spaces, and dancing is in our bar. Do ask for our intimate wedding offers.
Yes, we are very happy for you to come back on planning trips or with suppliers as much as you like. We don't allow visits during other couples' celebrations; otherwise, we are very flexible with availability.
Choosing Broadfield as your wedding venue means you will have a dedicated wedding planner from your first enquiry until after you've tied the knot. Your planner will help you with everything as much or as little as you need and provide full event management and support. And because Broadfield is a family run business, you will have a constant planner throughout who knows the venue and weddings inside out.
Absolutely. Broadfield is completely dog-friendly, and your dog(s) can join you for your whole stay. For those who would like their dog professionally looked after on the wedding day itself, we have recommendations for local walkers and sitters.
