Firefly is my latest collection of bridal hair accessories and jewellery, a small selection of carefully considered designs to complement my existing collections. It is inspired by some of my favorite things: costume, ballet, the golden age of couture, and Hollywood. I always turn to these things, pouring over my beautiful books and looking through fashion photography archives. This always sends my mind on a creative meander and conjures ideas.
Firefly is for anyone who appreciates and seeks out unique details, accents of personality that elevate a look and make it your own. The collection comprises the intricate and meticulously handcrafted Camellia tulle flowers, offered as individual blooms for ultimate styling versatility, or the delicate and light-as-a-feather Camellia flower crown. Handcrafted from scratch, each piece is made to order and always with the opportunity for bespoke detailing if you wish; that could be requesting a unique colour, size or perhaps incorporating special beads from a piece of sentimental family jewellery or a family wedding dress.
Then, there’s the magical Firefly hairband with its signature lengths of glistening crystal, which gives its name to the collection. A minimalist’s dream, Firefly offers all the impact with no fussiness. In addition to the hairband, there are drop earrings and individual hair combs, too, fabulous either side of a sleek pony or adorning loose Hollywood waves. Also a feature of this collection are the two black accent pieces, the Camellia black flower and the glossy jet Midnight drop earrings, perfect for city chic black tie weddings or changing up your evening look. With details in gold or silver, pearl, sparkle or tulle, there’s a combination of finishing touches to suit every bride in the Firefly collection.
I was lucky enough to work with a brilliant small team to shoot these designs in the truly amazing Control Room A at Battersea Power Station. What a perfect venue to showcase these designs! I hope you love them as much as I do.
