Bridgerton Inspired Wedding Venues

Written by Caitlin Hoare
We swooned over Hastings in season one, were invested in Kate and Anthony’s grand romance in season two, and know that Nicola Coughlan will bring pure magic to the screen in the much-anticipated season three. But aside from the raunchy romantic storylines, ok, and the decadent costumes, the golden thread running throughout Bridgerton, and the thing that has us coming back for more has to be the filming locations… the venues!

Think Georgian villas dating back to the 1700s, wisteria-clad Palladian-style mansions, gilded state rooms, and sprawling parklands that are beyond befitting of this brilliant theatrical drama. We are lucky enough to list some of the most exquisite stately homes in the UK on our wedding venue directory, some of which have actually been featured in Bridgerton, and some which quite frankly deserve to be!

With the hit show returning to our screens for a third season next week, it looks like the Regency theme is here to stay, folks. Therefore, we’ve compiled a shortlist so you can live out your very own Bridgerton moment for your big day, from Devon’s charming country houses to Hertfordshire’s manicured estates. Each setting will undoubtedly help you capture the Bridgerton magic without feeling like a costume party. (And would ensure your event wouldn’t get slandered in Lady Whistledown’s Society Papers!). Let’s take a look…

Came House

Tucked away in the pastoral beauty of Thomas Hardy’s Dorset and just a stone’s throw from the dramatic vistas of the Jurassic Coast, Came House embodies the quintessence of Palladian elegance. Its decadent rooms, adorned with sparkling chandeliers and delicate Rococo plasterwork, are the perfect setting for a wedding steeped in Regency grandeur, making each moment feel like a page from a romantic novel.

Came House is a storied estate where countless guests have gathered under the banner of friendship, love, and laughter. With its roots deeply embedded in an era renowned for its lavish balls and visual splendour, this country house offers couples a chance to create their own chapter of romance and elegance in a truly historic setting.

Hamswell House

Raise your hand if you want to live in the Bridgerton family’s dreamy wisteria-draped brick estate… (Dear readers, we’ll join you in that!). Well, opting for Hamswell House in Bath will certainly offer a similar look and feel to your big day. The vibe here is elevated and lavish, yet fresh and unstuffy, with hints of the Regency era shining through.

Set within 50 acres of stunning private land and with grounds and gardens steeped in romance and grandeur, Hamswell House offers wide-reaching, panoramic views, ideal for those breathtaking wedding photos. So whether you’re exchanging vows under the open sky or dancing beneath the stars, this venue promises a wedding filled with enchantment and excitement reminiscent of the most splendid social season!

Findon Place

We have a dreamy South East wedding venue to share with you: meet Findon Place, a privately owned country estate nestled in the South Downs National Park at Findon, West Sussex. A delightful blend of history, drama, and Regency romance, the effortlessly elegant and charming Georgian Grade II* listed house is home to tall ceilings and south-facing windows, bathing every room in splendid natural light and offering a serene, neutral backdrop. Outside the formal gardens, manicured lawns and far-reaching grounds contain numerous areas to make your countryside wedding come alive, making it a venue that even the Bridgerton family would envy!

RSA House

For over 260 years, RSA House in the heart of London has provided a dynamic backdrop and played host to some of the city’s most spectacular celebrations. This venerable venue combines Georgian grandeur with contemporary style; from its magnificent marble floors to the sweeping staircases and stunning array of spaces, RSA House is designed to WOW your guests at every turn.

Its unique blend of classic and modern elements makes it an ideal choice for those seeking a city centre wedding venue that offers traditional elegance and a fresh, stylish vibe.

Pynes House

Pynes House, nestled amidst the rolling hills of Devon, was just made for Bridgerton-style romance—in fact, it was believed to be the inspiration for Barton Park in Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility. Whether you envision your ceremony outdoors against the stunning vistas of Devon’s landscape or prefer the intimate grandeur of one of the four stately rooms, it is an estate offering a truly authentic backdrop for a wedding rooted in historical elegance and literary charm.

Wander the ornamental terraces, stroll across the pristine lawns, or get lost in the enchanting woodland. Inside, the romance continues with interiors that boast mesmerising views, the warmth of log fires, and an atmosphere thick with cosiness and charm.

Davenport House

Arrive along a sweeping driveway and enter a world where each detail is tailored to create an unforgettable wedding experience. A spectacular historic venue set in the picturesque Shropshire countryside, Davenport House is the kind of sprawling countryside estate that could easily have hosted one of the many glamour-filled balls or opulent house parties popular at the time.

Thanks to its sprawling grounds and stylish, contemporary decor, it is eye-catching by day, yet it truly shines at night. As day turns to evening, The Great Hall takes centre stage as your dance floor, with beautiful sparkling chandeliers that illuminate the space, with the option for guests to relax in the luxurious The Saloon or The Dining Room.

Goodnestone Park

If you’ve fallen in love with the stately homes on Bridgerton, you’ll certainly want to explore Goodnestone Park, located in the heart of the Kent countryside. Offering a blend of historic grandeur and contemporary comfort, this Grade II-listed house is perfect for a weekend-long wedding celebration.

While Goodnestone Park is drenched in history, the recent addition of a luxury timber-framed, Italian-inspired Orangery Marquee brings a modern twist to the estate. This spectacular venue is the ultimate space for a wedding breakfast and an evening spent dancing under the stars. The marquee complements the historical backdrop of the house, providing an elegant, light-filled space that transitions seamlessly from a delightful dining area to a vibrant dance floor.

Firle Place

An ideal venue for a Bridgerton-esque wedding would typically feature manicured gardens, grand fireplaces, and a quintessentially English lakeside setting. Enter Firle Place!

This private estate, which has been hosting noble guests since 1473, allows you to choose from several picturesque ceremony locations, including the charming courtyard for an al-fresco style service or The Great Hall with its historic Tudor stone floors and Van Dyke painting. Their Georgian riding school, transformed into a magical reception venue, features a fairy-lit ceiling with exposed oak beams and cascading fairy-light walls, complemented by soft white drapes and an elegant bar. We love!

Wynyard Hall

Imagine a venue lifted straight from the pages of a Regency romance—Wynyard Hall in County Durham, with its grandeur and stately elegance, offers just that! Plus, with its exclusive use policy, this luxurious setting ensures couples enjoy a truly intimate and opulent experience not dissimilar to the lavish social gatherings of the early 19th-century aristocracy.

Guests can mingle in the Statue Gallery, sipping fine wines, before moving to the chapel, where vows are exchanged under ancient arches. The celebration continues with a scenic photoshoot by the serene lake and on the ornate terrace, followed by a sumptuous wedding breakfast in the marquee, making every moment feel like it’s been plucked from a grand Bridgerton ball.

Prestwold Hall

While it wasn’t built during the Regency itself, Prestwold Hall nevertheless boasts a beautiful historic house (built in the 1760s) with features and opulent architecture reminiscent of the series—mouldings like buttercream and floor-to-ceiling windows that open onto the gardens bursting with roses and topiaries, perfectly setting the scene for romance to blossom.

Capturing the essence of Regency glamour, this grand Leicestershire venue provides a stunning backdrop for every phase of your wedding day—from exchanging vows in its elegant interior to dancing the night away after a garden cocktail hour!

Rudding Park

Crystal chandeliers, a sweeping staircase, and ornate detailing are just the start of the Bridgerton vibes at Rudding Park in North Yorkshire. However, the true beauty of Rudding Park (aside from its 300 acres of lush Yorkshire countryside) lies in its ability to adapt to each couple’s unique tastes and personalities. Whether you prefer a wedding infused with modern styling or steeped in traditional elegance, Rudding Park provides a tailored experience that transforms your wedding into a beautiful, personalised celebration.

Boconnoc

Boconnoc is one of Cornwall’s best-kept secrets, offering a backdrop that’s as rich in history as it is in beauty. Taking cues from the show’s more subdued spaces, this family-owned Georgian estate offers couples reception spaces that give more cosy parlour vibes than ballroom excess.

Nestled within picturesque landscapes, surrounded by ancient woodlands and sweeping views, Boconnoc embodies the serene beauty and historical richness that would captivate any couple seeking a venue with soul and elegance. This is a genuinely stylish retreat where history and romance expertly intertwine.

Chiswick House and Gardens

Chiswick House and Gardens, a pioneering example of neo-Palladian architecture in England, was constructed between 1726 and 1729 as more than just a home—it was an architectural innovation. Inspired by the grandeur of the Italian villas he encountered on his Grand Tours, the third Earl of Burlington crafted this classical villa to serve as a canvas for grand celebrations, embodying the elegance and splendour of an aristocratic lifestyle.

Nestled within 65 acres of meticulously landscaped gardens, Chiswick House now offers a breathtaking setting for weddings. As one of London’s most unique wedding venues, the estate features two exquisitely decorated rooms and two charming courtyards licensed for civil ceremonies alongside the Garden Pavilion, which is ideal for hosting dinner and dancing. From its interiors’ gilded opulence to its expansive gardens’ serene atmosphere, Chiswick House has been a favoured backdrop for fabulous parties for centuries.

North Mymms Park

North Mymms Park, set in the lush Hertfordshire countryside, blends the grandeur of Elizabethan architecture with 21st-century comforts. This venue offers diverse, beautifully decorated spaces, from the authentically panelled Long Gallery to the marble mosaic-framed Loggia, each providing a stunning backdrop for both ceremony and photographs alike.

Post-wedding, the newlyweds can retreat to the luxurious bridal suite while guests enjoy 19th-century stables converted into charming bedrooms. A shared morning breakfast caps off the celebrations, creating a memorable end to a perfect wedding day.

Somerley House

Somerley House, a distinguished Georgian stately home in Hampshire, has graced the screen in Bridgerton, The Royals, and The Crown, no less! Its timeless elegance and grandeur make it a dream venue for those wishing to embrace the opulence of a true lord and lady of the manor. The estate’s romantic English country gardens and sweeping driveways set a majestic scene, while the historic staterooms provide a breathtaking setting for wedding vows.

Their ethos centres on crafting bespoke experiences, aiming to astonish guests with the estate’s grandeur while offering a warm, familial atmosphere. At Somerley, you don’t just visit; you become part of its storied history and leave feeling like family.
