The owners, Tim and Deana, have transformed this neglected rural gem and its Grade II listed farm buildings and Georgian farmhouse into the incredible and inspiring venue it is today, bursting with style, individuality and charm.

In their latest styled shoot, they explore the intricacies of the venue’s uniqueness, capturing the essence of its three distinctive ceremony spaces. Join us as we showcase the adaptability, versatility, and sustainable elegance of The Oak Barn, Frame Farm, a testament to the possibilities that await couples seeking a unique and unforgettable wedding experience.

Notes from the Venue

Deana says…

The Oak Barn, Frame Farm is a charming eco-friendly barn wedding and events venue located on the Kent and Sussex border, within the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This exclusive venue, run by me, Deana, and my husband Tim, offers couples a bespoke and luxurious experience and is the perfect backdrop for romance.

Frame Farm boasts three main venue spaces and picturesque surroundings, all exquisitely versatile, setting the stage for unforgettable weddings all year round. This styled shoot was organised to showcase the adaptability and flexibility of each event space within our sustainable venue. Taking into account the changing seasons, the unpredictability of the weather, and echoing the unique tastes of each couple, our editorial serves as an inspiration and guide into the possibilities awaiting those planning their wedding at The Oak Barn, Frame Farm, or indeed at any venue with multiple venue spaces available.

On the day, we curated three distinct ceremony options that showcased not only the venue’s versatility but also, through the use of different models, we were able to celebrate our couples’ diverse tastes and personalities through carefully crafted themes. We also ensured there were opportunities for capturing pre-wedding bridal prep and those all-important post-ceremony couple shots.

Our first indoor ceremony took place in The Oak Barn, a stunning Grade II listed threshing barn that stands as the estate’s centrepiece and is a popular option for large weddings. Its high vaulted roof, exposed beams, and floor-to-ceiling glass doors accommodate up to 135 guests for ceremonies, 135 for formal dining, and 200 for evening receptions. After some pampering and prep in one of our Weaver’s Cottages, our model couple came together to exchange vows with the barn’s beautiful exposed brick and rustic beamed walls and an organic, rambling floral installation as the backdrop.

Moving seamlessly into The Byre, an intimate yet adaptable space with floor-to-ceiling glass doors that bathe the interior in beautiful natural light. This elegant location had a soft and beautiful English meadow theme for our editorial and accommodates 100 guests for ceremonies, 60 for formal dining, and 100 for relaxed evening receptions. Following another wonderful ceremony led by Roxy Celebrates Love, our couple wandered into Pole Barn, our open-fronted rustic barn, which provided the perfect backdrop for romantic couple portraits.

The grand finale unfolded outdoors on The Byre’s Terrace, framed by our beloved sheep and ancient oak trees. This alfresco space, adorned with bright, bold decor and exuding confidence and fun, provided a natural vista for our third couple’s celebration. Decorated with vibrant pink florals and relaxed bench seating, it encapsulated the energy and spirit of this lively and fun-loving pair.

Set against the warm, golden palette of an early autumn day in Kent, our styled shoot unfolded with a natural, laid-back charm. Luckily, the weather was on our side, allowing us to explore the grounds freely with our model couples, capturing stunning images against the venue’s diverse backdrops. While we refrained from a prescribed colour scheme, the overall vibe remained classic and elegant. Still, we spiced things up with modern florals and pops of colour, adding a contemporary flair to a couple of the ceremony settings. Overall, it was a day of unscripted moments and creative exploration, showcasing the natural beauty and versatility of Frame Farm without the need for overdone embellishments.

We had the pleasure of featuring three stunning wedding dresses from Vicki’s Bridal Boutique. From clean lines to subtle detail, each dress embodied the essence of modern romance and was the perfect match for our grooms, who were dressed in sharp suits with contemporary features such as bold colours and complementary patterns from WÜD Tenterden.

Locate to Create infused our shoot with stylish charm, bringing the vision to life. Picture vintage sofas, rugs, and rustic peacock chairs strategically placed to enhance the venue’s natural rustic elegance. However, the pièce de résistance was the luxurious seating area in Pole Barn, adorned with opulent orange and royal blue velvet seating. This unexpected twist added a bold, contemporary flair to the rustic setting.

We were absolutely delighted with the bespoke floral arrangements, which added beauty, colour and form to each ceremony setting and reflected a different couple’s style in each location. In The Oak Barn, Bridal Wild skillfully crafted a wild and natural trailing installation that created a showstopping backdrop and was complemented by a bouquet rich in roses, enhancing the quintessentially English vibe. The Byre embraced an elegant simplicity with neutral florals, also by Bridal Wild, offering a pared-back, sophisticated ambience. Lastly, outdoors on The Byre’s Terrace, a burst of colour unfolded with vibrant statement floral structures by See Rose Floral Design, injecting a lively energy into the natural surroundings.

Together, our three spaces provide couples with an array of ceremony options, allowing them to curate their dream wedding experience amidst the breathtaking backdrop of Frame Farm, whether through a backdrop of stunning scenery, striking florals or a blend of both. Couples can incorporate these elements into their wedding plans, embracing the beauty of diverse venue spaces, flexible options, and personalised touches that a venue such as The Oak Barn Frame Farm provides.
