Grange Barn – A New Barn Wedding Venue in Cheshire

Written by Emma Hla
You might have noticed that our Event Diary is looking a little sparse these days, due to us all staying safe and tucked up at home. However, we know there’s lots of couples still looking for their dream wedding venue right now! So as you can’t get out to visit venues or attend Open Days, we thought we’d bring the venues to you!

We’re taking a peek inside the recent Open Day at Grange Barn – a converted cattle barn situated on a beautiful family run farm on the Cheshire/Shropshire border.

Come and take a look around…

Notes from Grange Barn

Sally says…

We held our second ever Open Day at Grange Barn on 23rd February 2020. Our very first Open Day was last June and was to mark the official opening of our newly renovated barn.

Last year, we ran the Open Day as a drop-in and whilst it was fantastic and very busy with a great buzz all day, we felt brides and grooms didn’t get the personal service we like to provide. This year we chose to instead ask people to register via our website and sign up to a specific time. This meant we could run private appointments with one of our friendly team members who showed couples around the barn and talked them through everything they needed to know regarding a wedding at Grange Barn. Couples who had booked with us were also invited to come in the afternoon to see the barn all laid out and to ask us any questions, and to chat to suppliers.

We invited our key suppliers to have a stand at our Open Day and couples were welcome to chat to them about their requirements and try some food samples and have a drink at our bar. We had 3 of our recommended caterers (Relish, Fresh & Lush and Big 5) handing our delicious food samples and our bar company (The Estate Boys) talking to couples about bar packages and also giving out drinks. We also had two of our recommended photographers (Andy Griffiths and Gavin Dickson) with a stand and our recommended florist (White Wysteria).

The barn was all laid out for a wedding for 100 people so couples could really visualise the space, with the tables dressed with beautiful greenery by White Wysteria and glassware, table linen and crockery all done by Relish. We decided to keep the table settings simple, with greenery down the middle and plenty of jam jars with candles running in between the greenery. With the dark green table linen, it looked really elegant and in keeping with the rustic look and feel of the barn. All of the furniture and decorations we put out belong to Grange Barn and couples are very welcome to borrow these at no extra charge. This made it very easy for couples to understand what was included and what was not included, and hopefully helped them visual all the extras that add up for weddings! We had recently build a flower arch in our ceremony room which was dressed by White Wysteria and have purchased a lot of quirky bits and bobs including large milk churns, rustic step ladders, potato crates and vintage suitcases for all of our couples to borrow.

The feedback from prospective and booked couples on our Open Day was just amazing, and our suppliers also liked how the day flowed. All in all, it was a great success!
