When I started the whole wedding-planning-thing I knew the style of wedding I wanted to create…
A Bride-to-be caught between Modern Vintage and Rustic Romance I combined the two to create a vision of an English Summer Garden Party that was both relaxed yet traditional and with a nod to the glam!
Now I’m a fairly organised gal and up there when it comes to crafts but I knew I would need some help, guidance and the key to a darn good prop cupboard to pull off the look and style I so desired!
Step in the rather fabulous Kate Fletcher of Vintage Style Hire with her assortment of vintage delights.

I found Kate on the pretty pages of Rock My Wedding which showed Kate’s talent for styling in all it’s glory when they featured the wedding of James & Julie.
Kate had also styled some rather fabulous events such as the book launch party for Style Me Vintage: Weddings by Annabel Beeforth, of Love My Dress fame.
So, with these credentials I just knew I needed Kate in my life!

Now, I promise to share with you our Wedding on these pages soon so you can see how Kate helped to transform our wedding venue into a pretty rustic-vintage scene, but today I wanted to tell you a little more about Kate and her new adventure into the world of retail…
Vintage Style Hire has naturally progressed into Vintage Style Living…
From originally renting a small corner of Hammer Hill Barn in Thaxted, a picturesque village in the North Essex countryside, Kate has now extended her empire to a second floor where she has built a beautiful pop-up shop space to house her gorgeous finds…

Kate held two Pop-up events over the festive period and I was lucky enough to head up there for a visit! The shop was full to the brim with vintage finds, painted furniture in a range of chalky colours and accessories for the home and garden.
From succulents in trophy cups to vintage rocking horses – you will want everything in Kate’s shop! I walked away with some gorgeous Silver Mercury tea-light holders which have sparkled their way through Christmas, and the most amazing Owl Bookends that are now sitting proudly aloft on our lounge bookcase. I am yet to name them…
If you missed out and would like to visit the Vintage Style Living shop then they are open by appointment, so make a date and bring your friends! Kate does also plan to open once a month from Spring onwards and dates will be set soon – why not head over to Twitter and follow Vintage Style Living to be the first to hear of any news.
Also check out the Vintage Style Hire website if you are looking for some help with styling your own wedding venue!
Lots of love…
