A ‘Home Tour’ of One Marylebone

by Emma Hla
Images by Gyan Gurung Photography.

Built in 1826 on its own ‘island’ in the heart of the capital, One Marylebone opened its doors in 2008 and quickly rose to become one of the leading event spaces in the Capital. Beautifully refurbished to the original designs of Sir John Soane, the historic building was the first venue to open under the luxurious One Events portfolio.

We asked Amber for a little more detail on the venue, to illustrate Gyan Gurung Photography has once again obliged by providing these stunning images…

Notes from One Marylebone

Amber:

The Soane Hall is the jewel in the crown of One Marylebone; at over 27 feet in height, the prestigious space is both impressive in size and beauty. Opulent mosaics and stained glass windows evoke everlasting elegance. The 2nd floor contemporary and light Galleries are the perfect setting for pre-dinner drinks or can be used on their own for a multitude of events.

The venue has attracted leading brands across a variety of industries and is able to host ceremonies for up to 350, receptions for up to 500 and sit down dinners for 350. One Marylebone is one of London’s most flexible and unique venues.

We love how the spaces at One Marylebone are so versatile and flexible. We have seen so many different and equally beautiful weddings. Whether you are looking at having an opulent black tie affair with 350 guests or a more intimate relaxed day with 50 guests, we can cater.

As with all of our spaces, we wanted to stay true to their history. At One Marylebone, due to it being Grade I listed, there are limited changes we can make but apart from knocking down the walls between the pillars in the Soane Hall to make more room, we continue to enhance its amazing features.

The Soane Hall at One Marylebone has the wow factor with its high ceilings, beautiful mosaic alter and original features. Whereas the galleries are more contemporary with glittering chandeliers and floor to ceiling windows, it’s hard to choose our favourite space as they are so different yet work so well together.

At One Marylebone, couples can expect complete dedication, professionalism, enthusiasm and knowledge from our team. We do work with preferred caterers and production companies who are the best in the business otherwise couples are free to bring in whomever they want to create their perfect day.

Our venues are perfectly set up to hold your ceremony, drinks reception and dinner and dance so you can hold everything under one roof but be able to move around and enjoy the whole space. Or if you’re just looking to hold your ceremony or dinner and dance we can cater for that too! Our venues are exclusively yours and we know they will provide a backdrop to the perfect day.

One Belgravia is a sister venue to One Marylebone and we’ll be back on Wednesday with a little insider peek into this equally impressive London space.

If you’ve fallen a bit in love with One Marylebone then head over to the Venue Finder where you can find all the details.

Lots of love…
