Chantelle & Jamie’s Wedding at The Woodyard, Worstead Estate

If The White Company did weddings…

Now this is a wedding theme I can get on board with! Chantelle has a vision of white for their early autumn wedding and Emily, Wedding Planner at Hardesty Event Design, created this beautifully modern luxe wedding celebration at Worstead Estate in Norfolk. The venue was the perfect choice, hosting friends and family onsite for a weekend and with a strong focus on local suppliers and produce.

Notes from the Planner

Emily says…

Chantelle loved the feel of this venue and the way in which the blank canvas space could be designed into the modern white wedding she was hoping for. The bride really wanted the opportunity for their closest family and friends to be able to sleep onsite the night before their wedding, and wake up together the following morning to really make the most of the weekend. Worstead Estate was able to accommodate 31 guests onsite for the weekend of their wedding and therefore was just the perfect venue.

Chantelle always knew she wanted a black tie wedding and chose to wear a Jesus Peiro dress with Jimmy Choos. To complement her style, her bridesmaids wore beautiful bespoke-made ivory dresses whilst Jamie and the groomsman wore tuxedos.

The brief was “if The White Company” did weddings. When Chantelle booked me as her wedding planner, she knew she wanted a white wedding. Together, we worked through various styles and options to get an idea on likes and dislikes before designing a beautiful super luxe modern vision board. The focus was to be on beautiful white florals with lots of soft candlelight. The tableware focused on ribbed elegant glassware, hundreds of white taper candles in crystal cut glass candlesticks and beautifully designed modern contemporary stationery.

We chose Kat from Ivy Floral Events to execute our floral vision on the day, designing a cascade of white blousy roses, orchids and anthuriums falling from the ceremony table with a gyp cloud hung above. For the tables, there were gyp clouds down the centre of each adorned with white taper candles of varying heights and in front of the bride and groom, a stunning arrangement of white blousy roses, anthuriums and orchids.

The cake was baked by a family friend, who handmade sugar flowers of anthuriums and orchids. Our team at Hardesty Event Design repurposed the florals from the ceremony table, to complement the cake, adding a combination of cascading of gypsophila, white roses, anthuriums and orchids.

We worked closely with the caterers, Brasteds beforehand, and they provided a 4 course menu using only the best locally sourced produce from across Norfolk and Suffolk including Brasted’s Beef Wellington and their G&T sorbet cones. The 4 course menu was carefully paired with wines provided by another local supplier; Adnams.

Andy Davison is a Norfolk photographer and his ‘style’ is fun, informal, documentary and candid. Hardesty Event Design has worked with Andy Division for a number of years, he’s all about capturing those genuine moments that you can relive forever.

Best part of the day

As a planner, and after 12 months+ of planning and designing this beautiful modern luxe white orchid wedding, the best part of the day for me is the moment just before the ceremony starts. Each and every detail is in place, the vision is alive and I’m finally seeing the beginning of the day unfold, watching our bride walk down the aisle.

Advice from a planner…

I know it’s easy to say as a planner, however, I’m going to anyway; enjoy it. You will only have this experience once, whether that’s the worry and the stress of it, or the jitters on the morning, either way, really try to enjoy the rollercoaster of emotions; the excitement, the worry, the sheer happiness, the glee, and of course the joy and all that’s in-between.
