N+C’s celebration is a riot of summer love, wrapped up in a chic city bow. They opted for an outdoor ceremony in Battersea Park followed by a joy-filled reception at the ever-eclectic Brunswick House.

On Friday 5th August, my now-husband Nick and I got married at the bandstand in Battersea Park. We wanted everything about the day to be personal to us and thought what could be more personal than the central point of our relationship – we met at Bluebird on the King’s Road, we moved into our flat on Prince of Wales Drive (on the park just over 3 years ago), Nick proposed in the tower at Chiltern Firehouse, and the list goes on!
We’re also major foodies, so we knew the kitchen at Brunswick House wouldn’t disappoint. We then fell in love with LASSCO Brunswick House, oozing with character and quirkiness. The full-on London feel located right on Vauxhall’s busy roundabout was amazing, and the stunning interiors full of incredible antiques truly bring the photos to life.
We wanted our friends to feel their absolute best on the day, and so, we didn’t ask them to wear specific outfits. My girls were dressed in different shades of green, all dresses they picked out to best suit them. Nick’s groomsmen wore blue suits of their choosing, with ties to match Nick’s.
One of my best friends Morgan Mandic designed my dress, which is part of her bridal collection Mira Mandic. As she lives in Paris, I used Bride & Alter to ensure the dress was the perfect fit for me. I wore shoes by Flor de Asoka, and earrings by Freya Rose London. My go-to hairdresser Zoe Norman looked after my up-do, and another close friend Imogen did my make-up. Nick wore Suit Supply head to toe. Us girls got ready at Firmdale Hotel Number Sixteen in South Ken (stunning). Nick and the boys got ready at our flat on the park.
We opted for classic greens and whites across all locations, loving the natural surroundings of the park and the gorgeous décor at Brunswick House… it really didn’t need much more! Our florist was Stems Wilder from Brixton Village. Milena creates the most gorgeous bouquets and I loved that she’s young and building her business.
The amazing team at Brunswick House looked after all the food for us. They offer an amazing feasting menu. The service was seamless and so friendly. We forewent the cake tradition in favour of late night bacon butties! We brought our champagne over from France, where I grew up. It’s a family favourite – from Champagne G.P. Wafflart et Fils.
Lara Cornell is the most beautiful person – not only does she take incredible photos, but she was an absolute pleasure to have with us on the day. So smiley and fun, but of course, extremely professional. She was accompanied by her colleague Lisa Booth, who also captured the boys getting ready. Lara is a friend of my best friend of 26 years, Gaby. They know each other from the film industry, and Lara’s project before our wedding was actually capturing the Barbie movie!
Best part of the day
Oh wow, we really couldn’t say. Everything was just incredible! That moment we saw each other for the ceremony was so special, as were the speeches. Such incredible and heartfelt speeches by Nick, my father, and the cheeky twins Ben and Jacob.
From one couple to another…
Have fun and don’t take anything too seriously!
Make sure you hibernate afterwards and take time just for the two of you. That said, we didn’t take enough time off work post wedding… we were back in the office 3 days afterwards. So, I would definitely recommend taking more time off to enjoy each other’s company.
