Spring Flowers and April Showers at Alrewas Hayes

“Time flies, so cherish every step…”

From modern elegance to captivating blooms, delectable treats to unforgettable moments, every detail of Megan & Tom’s wedding at Alrewas Hayes is inspiring. With a vibrant spring palette and soulful melodies, their celebration exudes a fresh, romantic atmosphere. Oh and keep reading for valuable insights from the bride.

Notes from the Bride

Megan says…

We were enchanted by our venue, a perfect blend of modernity and charm. The moment we arrived for the viewing, we felt right at home.

For my bridal attire, I chose a Ronald Joyce dress and veil from Lula Ann Bridal in Erdington. My shoes were handmade by a talented lady from Greece on Etsy. The bridesmaids’ dresses were from ASOS. Tom, the groom, sported a suit from ASOS as well, and the groomsmen rented theirs from Dapper Dan in Cannock. Megan Layland worked her magic on our makeup, while I, being a hairdresser myself, took care of the bridesmaids’ hair. Laura Degville beautifully styled my bridal hair.

With a spring wedding in mind, we aimed for a bright and fresh atmosphere. To achieve this, we opted for a white and blush decor theme that perfectly complemented our chosen venue. Edwina from Dusky Blooms became our florist of choice. After seeing her stunning work at a friend’s wedding and browsing her Instagram page, we knew she was the creative genius we needed. Edwina’s bridal bouquet styles were refreshingly unique, and during our initial video call, she grasped our vision effortlessly. She was incredibly helpful, suggesting additional ideas to enhance our floral arrangements.

Lucy from Amerton Cakes crafted our delightful cake. With an open mind, we visited her beautiful workshop and selected our favorite style, which we then customized to match our color scheme.

Our four-tiered cake boasted a variety of flavors: Prosecco and strawberry sponge, carrot and walnut cake, cookies and cream, and a traditional Victoria sponge. We wanted our guests to enjoy a diverse range of tastes.

David Boynton skillfully captured our memories as our photographer. We fell in love with his work on social media and couldn’t imagine entrusting anyone else with the task. Dave’s friendly and relaxed demeanor on our special day made us feel comfortable in front of the camera. While we had specific photos in mind for our bridal party and immediate family, we also requested natural, candid shots. Despite the drizzling rain throughout the wedding day, Dave found a 15-minute window for outdoor photos and produced breathtaking results. We are beyond grateful for his exceptional work and couldn’t be happier with our photos.

Best part of the day

The most magical moment of our day was undoubtedly our ceremony. As our guests arrived and I walked down the aisle, a string quartet filled the air with romantic melodies. The room we chose for our ceremony at Alrewas Hayes was simply breathtaking.

Music holds a special place in our hearts, particularly Motown and soul. To create an unforgettable evening reception, we enlisted the talents of Dayton Grey, an incredible singer. His performance truly made our wedding reception a night to remember.

From one couple to another…

While the buildup to your wedding day can be stressful, remember that it will be the best day of your lives. Don’t let stress and worry consume you during the planning process. Time flies, so cherish every step. Trust your decisions and try not to overthink every tiny detail. Simply enjoy the journey!
