Designed to inspire couples seeking a wedding that feels both free-spirited and refined, the shoot layers organic textures with hand-crafted details to create a mood that’s effortless, expressive, and full of personality. With rambling roses, copper accents, and gowns handmade in Devon, it’s a true celebration of local artistry and these last golden weeks of summer.

The Great Barn Devon offered the perfect backdrop for our Boho Luxe vision thanks to its wealth of natural, rustic textures and timeless charm. From the thatched outbuildings and sun-warmed stone walls to the oak beams and slate details, every surface added depth to the aesthetic. The expansive grounds provided endless inspiration – a walled garden brimming with blooms, rambling roses framing doorways, and pockets of enchanting woodland bathed in golden light. This seamless blend of elegance and earthiness allowed us to create scenes that felt relaxed yet luxurious, perfectly capturing the spirit of a summer bohemian celebration.

The shoot embraced a true Boho Luxe style – free-spirited yet refined, romantic yet grounded in natural beauty. We wanted to inspire brides and grooms who value individuality, artisanal details, and effortless elegance. Layering organic textures with elevated, hand-crafted elements, we created a mood that was joyful, expressive, and rich in personality. The theme centred on relaxed luxury – abundant flowers, barefoot moments, golden hour light, and spaces styled to feel both unstructured and beautifully curated. Every scene celebrated the harmony between the venue’s rustic charm and the elevated creativity of our handpicked suppliers.

We captured the warmth and richness of late summer, using a palette of deep pinks, burnt oranges, rusty reds, warm browns, and rich copper tones, softened with muted greens and natural neutrals. These colours echoed the season’s abundance, from sun-faded petals to glowing sunsets. The late-summer light brought an extra layer of magic, illuminating the copper accents and enhancing the vibrancy of the florals. The result was a palette that felt warm, inviting, and perfectly in tune with the wild, bohemian aesthetic – a celebration of summer’s last golden weeks.
Fashion and beauty embodied contemporary boho elegance. The bride wore stunning, handmade gowns by Dandelion & Pearls, an award-winning bridal designer renowned for bespoke creations that blend contemporary, bohemian, and vintage-inspired styles, all ethically handcrafted in their Devon studio using couture finishing techniques. Looks were completed with soft glam waves adorned with exquisite Claire Austin England hair pieces, adding a touch of artisanal romance, and sun-kissed bronze makeup for a radiant, natural glow. Jewellery by Milly Maunder, featuring her signature granulation technique, brought a timeless, heirloom quality – unique designs to be treasured for a lifetime.

The décor was led by nature, with Deer Leap Flowers providing the showstopping wild-inspired arrangements that became the heart of the styling. We wanted the flowers to take centre stage – abundant, untamed, and perfectly in tune with the venue’s gardens. Copper details (Rustic Love Hire) added warmth, while signage and stationery (Paper Belles) mirrored the relaxed, boho, summer aesthetic with designs that complemented the florals beautifully. Every detail was considered but never overworked, creating a space that felt effortless and organic, yet brimming with character and seasonal beauty.

Our florist, whose hand-grown blooms are nurtured, picked, and arranged on their flower farm, is located less than a mile from The Great Barn Devon. This close connection to the land was an essential part of the shoot’s feel – one that was local, seasonal, and sustainable. Working with what was flourishing most beautifully at the time, the arrangements became a true celebration of summer abundance. From rambling roses to airy grasses and vibrant seasonal blooms, every stem felt fresh from the garden, enhancing the authenticity and romance of the Boho Luxe style.

Couples can take inspiration from this shoot by blending natural beauty with considered, artisanal touches. Start by choosing a venue with character-rich backdrops that work harmoniously with the seasons. Embrace local, seasonal flowers to create a sense of place and abundance, and let them take centre stage in your décor. Layer textures – from rustic woods to metallic accents – for depth, and select bespoke accessories that reflect your personal style. Most importantly, don’t be afraid to let go of overly structured styling; sometimes the most magical moments come from a bit of wildness, golden light, and heartfelt details.
