Their luxurious yet simple aesthetic worked seamlessly with the venue’s vibe, creating a stylish yet relaxed atmosphere brimming with ideas for your own day. From neutral white and green florals to a cloud of crisp white confetti, every detail was *chef’s kiss* and classic black-tie perfection! Not forgetting the Vintage Fiat 500 which was a gorgeous addition and a cute nod to the start of their love story. This is proof that an out-of-season winter wedding can be every bit as enchanting as its summer counterpart, and honestly, I’m all for it.
Thirsk Lodge Barns ticked all of the boxes for us. It was the first and only venue we looked at, and we knew straight away it was the venue we would like to get married at. We liked the mix of modern and rustic, and we also liked that there were different areas of the venue that our guests could utilise throughout the day. The whole venue was stunning, and the accommodation was the icing on the cake.
We opted for a black tie theme for the wedding party, and my wedding dress was Caroline Castigliano. I did the styling; I wanted to keep it quite simple. The venue is so beautiful that it didn’t need a huge amount added to it but there were lots of candles and rustic props to go amongst the wild floral arrangements. Our florist was Walter + Blossom. We wanted something quite wild with neutral tones, and Sophie was amazing! She completely understood the brief from our first meeting and made it come to life on the big day.
Our cake was made by the mother of the groom, and the caterer for the day was Blues Catering. We didn’t want to go for a traditional vibe so we decided sharing boards would be the perfect option. In fact, our guests are still talking about the food one year later!!
Our photographer was Mark Bamforth. We chose him after scoping him out on Instagram and falling in love with his style. He did not disappoint. He was so great on the day that he managed to capture some incredible memories for us.
I have so many favourite parts of the day, but I will never forget walking down the aisle.
Enjoy the process and enjoy every second of the day. It really does go so quickly.
